When 8th grade student Jared Marcum got dressed for school this morning, he says he had no idea that his pro-Second Amendment shirt would initiate what he calls a fight over his First Amendment rights.
It was the image of a gun printed on Jareds t-shirt that sparked a dispute between a Logan Middle School teacher and Jared, that ended with Jared suspended, arrested and facing two charges, obstruction and disturbing the education process, on his otherwise spotless record.
Jareds father Allen Lardieri says hes angry he had to rush from work to pick his son up from jail over something he says was blown way out of proportion.

Don’t just threaten to sue, do it. People have to sue the bejeezus out of these clowns every time and everywhere this happens until they know they can’t run rough shod over peoples rights. Will they next suspend and arrest a student if they were wearing a Che Shirt with a circle with a bar thru it over the picture? Can’t desecrate their heroes.
Disarming the American public continues apace in elementary and high schools in the form of scary cookies, drawings and alarming tee-shirts.
Elsewhere, walking around with a firearm, even where legal, has risen to the level of disturbing the peace and police apprehension if only one wussified member of the community (or political activist) is “frightened”.
Arrested?? Sue them into the stone age.
ARRESTED? WTF???
Can’t wait til they try that with my kiddies, who wear, with pride, regularly, The Fighting SeaBees logo (honoring the memory of their grandfather)
Not a peep yet here in Western PA....
Neat shirts. Where get one?
Exactly, I’d buy my kid a whole new wardrobe, all with 2A and/or NRA messages. Wear one every day.
And I would picket the bitch’s house so all her neighbors knew she was an intolerant skag that abused children.
“Disturbing the education process”? Like a Teacher’s Strike?
What else should one expect when you let others pay for your children’s education.
If the parents were writing the tuition check each month, it would be a different story.
Fortunately, they didn't get suspended or anything.
I just told him that the people who make the rules at his school are idiots. I explained that just because a rule is a rule doesn't make it right. What is right is what his mom, dad and church tell him. It was actually a good teaching lesson and hopefully from now on he will take what his school says with a grain of salt.
I wish it was feasible to send him to a private school or home school but it just isn't. I pay a bunch in taxes so that we can live in a real good school district in a conservative area so I didn't think I had to worry about things like this but I guess I do.
Push Back.
That’s my comment as well.
The people making the decisions need to be held responsible for those decisions.
Whoever pushed this to the point of his arrest and expulsion needs to face personal, individual civil penaltie$.
Like a Teachers Strike?
Or like getting fake doctor's excuses to go march for obammy.
When I was this kids age I had a neighbor who drove for a local brewery. He used to give us kids different sorts of swag, including t-shirts emblazoned with the company (beer) logo.
I made the mistake of wearing such a t-shirt to school and was given the choice of changing into something from the lost~&~found pile or going home. I guess it was the enthusiasm with which I shouted “Go home!” that rankled them such that they called my mom and insisted she come fetch me.
I learned early on what joyless people the indoctrinators were ;-)
This country’s mentality is fast circling the drain. “Land of the Free” ... “Home of the Brave”.. really?
Lots of places to get them - any search should find a site you like (I prefer not to endorse specific businesses on FR, even when I approve of the business).
There is a law against disturbing the educational process?
B.S. meter now in the red.
Cops just making up laws now?
Truly the barbarians are inside the walls.
I suspect...we ain’t seen nothing yet!
