President Obama was visibly angry during his press conference yesterday, voicing disappointment with the Senate for failing to pass an amendment requiring universal background checks for gun sales.
The president, however, insisted it was still possible to bring about meaningful changes that reduce gun violence outside of Congress.
Even without Congress, my administration will keep doing everything it can to protect more of our communities, Obama insisted. Were going to address the barriers that prevent states from participating in the existing background check system. Were going to give law enforcement more information about lost and stolen guns so it can do its job. Were going to help to put in place emergency plans to protect our children in their schools.
Obama encouraged disappointed anti-gun activists to make their voices heard in the 2014 midterm elections. Sign Up for the Politics Digest newsletter!
[I]f this Congress refuses to listen to the American people and pass common-sense gun legislation, then the real impact is going to have to come from the voters, he added.
How long before his standard response is:
Silence! I keeel you!
Shhhhhh, that’s supposed to be under the Radar stuff!
That's the story for everything he wants. Legislate by Executive Order and other administration action. And the press cheerleads because its for causes they support. This is the way a democracy turns into a dictatorship.
We’ve scheduled 10 stings for Fast & Furious. We’ll prove there are bad guys out there.
Once again our Monarch speaks, to hell with the Constitution he says, screw the Congress. I will do by Executive order (which I demonized George Bush for using) whatever the hell I want! Screw the American people I am King!
Apparently the “10%” that don’t “approve” of further restrictions on our rights spoke louder than your 90%. Or was that a lie? (I know, rhetorical.)
What we need here is a side-by-side video of Obama’s emotional decree that he would bypass the senate, with
that scene from Star Wars episode 3 where the evil Chancelor angrily says “I AM THE SENATE!”
Slow the background check system even furtther
Visably angry?
He was fixing to cry like a whiny little bitch.
It’s God he’s fighting more than us.
He got bitch slapped. But I still don’t trust Reid. Barry is a man child moron. That’s overstepping!
Another end run around Congress and the blithering idiots will do nothing about it.
Why do we need to pay for a congress and all their staff and all their travel if the pResident can simply use EOs to render the congress meaningless.
Because it seems we have no FUNCTIONING mechanism to remove a person who has appointed himself dictator. I am sure the Founders gave us the tools but they must be buried under the thousands of pages of CommieCare.
He’ll achieve THAT only at the point of a gun!
The Libtards not only touched the 2nd Amendment 3rd rail of politics, they laid their private parts on it. 2014 is going to be a political slaughter. The Democrats and some Republicans are not going to like the fierce political backlash that is coming like a cat 5 hurricane.
Any politician that wants to survive the culling that will occur at the ballot box in 2014 will make every effort to not only stop any gun control, but to repeal some of the existing stuff.
Congratulations Obama, that little worm you were poking at turned into a fire breathing dragon and it’s gonna destroy your party in 2014. You guys didn’t learn your lesson in 1994 so I guess you need a reminder. I predict the Democrats lose the Senate, the House shifts stronger to the Republican side and a bunch of middle road pansies get their eviction notice as Conservatives move in.
Should have left the gun issue alone Libtards. It’s not a winning issue for you in any way. Too late now.
The House can nullify an EO within 3 days by, I think, 2/3 vote. Not that they’d try, but imagine the look on The One’s face if they did?
I hope I live long enough to see him as someones unwilling bitch.
