During a House hearing this morning, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano criticized the Drudge Report for highlighting stories about the department’s purchases of ammunition and MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles.

Pot, the “DHS Has 2700 Tanks” story got debunked by LGF. They only got sixteen.
Breitbart hit the “DHS Has 1.6 Billyun Rounds” story pretty hard. They only got 450 million, but for the size force they have that’s still overkill.
There is too much chaff (military-grade tinfoil) floating around the blogosphere, but the facts are buried deep inside. You just have to wade your way through.
I was getting the same error, so I opened another tab to keep on my comments and refresh every time I reply to a post.

The deniers should stop getting their info from random websites and just go straight to the source. Everything DHS buys from commercial suppliers must go out for bids and is posted on FedBizOpps. Some idiot was posting that they “don’t actually” buy everything on the RFQ. Sure. They get pricing based on the product description, the quantity, and the delivery schedule. I’m sure that Remington wouldn’t be very happy if they quoted 250 million rounds and then DHS told them “ok, we’ll take 10,000 for the quoted price”. Aunt Janet just doesn’t like to have media scrutiny as she builds up her illegal national police force. It isn’t a conspiracy theory if it is true!
Napolitano and the Obama cult, including their stooges in the media, wanted time to blame conservatives, Republicans, Tea Party patriots, gun owners, anyone who isn’t aligned with Obama’s cult before releasing information about the real terrorists. Like all Obama cultists, ugly Janet has been on her knees praying to Satan that the terrorists aren’t Muslims.

The ammo quantities in requests for quotation have a delivery schedule - the entire quantity isn’t required in a single shipment. For example, the DHS request for 250 million 40cal S&W rounds are for deliver over 5 years, 50 million per year.
There is no need to debate this stuff. The FedBizOpps site clearly explains what is going out for bids and the required delivery schedule.
Are those armor-piercing rounds actually hollow points? I don’t believe that ‘hardened’ brass is used for hollow points. That would defeat the purpose of the round by keeping it from expanding.

I am always reading sources but must have stopped paying attention to those, and I have not been posting as much lately. I always appreciate corrections as accuracy is all important to me.

I would believe Drudge before I would believe Napolitano any day of the week. In fact, I would not believe Npolitano if she said water is wet.
These stories typically come from other news sites (unless the operation of DR has changed somewhat in the past 15 years).
So are these other news outlets "not credible"? This administration has repeatedly shown itself to be "not credible" and Obama's calls for "transparency" in government have been hollow promises.
