I don’t think we are under attack exactly but the fire itself could be arson-related...

February Planned Burn at Plant Led to School Evac
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/february-planned-burn-plant-led-school-evac-18984866

Snip...
A school near the Texas fertilizer plant that was leveled by an explosion says it wasn’t warned about a controlled fire at the plant in February and evacuated its students to another school as a precaution. (more at link)

Re: Texas explosion was a Bomb - fire dispatch recording

Like the press proves with their vast non-knowledge of firearms in the gun control coverage... their understanding of explosives is just the same.

You would think that since this happened at a fertilizer plant... the press would know a lot about it as manure comes out of their mouths 24/7.

So, this proves for once and for all... the press don't know shite from shinola--

BTW West is about 40 miles west-southwest from me here in Corsicana. Did not hear nor feel a thing here. All involved in West, Texas, will be in my prayers.

This kind of makes me think of the Texas City explosions in 1947. Fertilizer can make for some nasty explosions.

Agreed.

Praying for those in West, Texas from Sugar Land, Texas.

Big difference between saying a bomb went off and finding evidence that the explosion was actually a bomb.

I have Fox News on; a NYC bomb squad guy is speaking. He says one of the people who called 911 said “a bomb went off”, so the bomb squad was probably called out automatically.

A bit earlier, a firefighter at the site told ABC News they have no evidence it was a bomb.

Fertilizer in itself is a bomb. I wouldn’t want to start something that is totally unproven at this time if I were reporting. There is enough tragedy there without false rumors being spread.

Yes, presume the media always tells the truth, unless there’s a REAAAALLLLY good reason for them not to, and ESPECIALLY when called stupid by another freeper.

People need to stop worshipping stuff they hear or think they hear on police scanners. It’s not some mystical font of truth.

Texas City Explosion - April 16, 1947

The Texas City disaster was the deadliest industrial accident in U.S. history. The incident took place on April 16, 1947, and began with a mid-morning fire on board the French-registered vessel SS Grandcamp which was docked in the Port of Texas City. The fire detonated approximately 2,300 tons of ammonium nitrate[1] and the resulting chain reaction of fires and explosions killed at least 581 people, including all but one member of the Texas City fire department.[2] These events also triggered the first ever class action lawsuit against the United States government, under the then-recently enacted Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA), on behalf of 8,485 victims.

Slo Joe had to wipe away a tear as he called for the registration of all fertilizer factories, followed by their confiscation.

The Waco police information officer conducting the morning briefing at 4:45 CDT this morning said that they would be treating the fertilizer plant as a crime scene until they ruled out criminal activity.

At that point, if nothing was found, it would convert to an industrial accident investigation.

He went on to say that they have no reason to believe, at this time, it was criminal in nature, but that is the way the investigations will be run.

Looks like the facility in question is an anhydrous ammonia storage facility owned by West Fertilizer Co. No actual manufacturing, though some mixing might be done there.
