ThE PERPETRATOR or perpetrators behind the two bombs that exploded within a few seconds of each other near the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon are still unknown. But there are working theories. Terrorists often plan their strikes on anniversaries and commemorative dates. Yesterday marked both a patriotic holiday in Massachusetts and Israel Independence Day, which raises the possibility of Islamic terrorism. April 15 is also the deadline for filing federal taxes, which suggests the possibility of homegrown, anti-tax extremists. The pathological possibilities abound at this point.
The Marathon is an uplifting event. It is also a made-for-terrorism event. The presence of live television crews ensures that the evil deed will be broadcast almost immediately throughout the world. Reports indicate that at least three people died as a result of the explosions and at least 140 were injured, some horribly.
The image of the dead and wounded will be burned into the memory of Americans for decades to come.....

That's definitely me, a CATO sponsor and work on the state local level against higher taxes. Being anti-tax also means being for life, liberty and property (they are all intertwined). Setting off bombs to take lives, property and enhance government power is the last thing I would do.

You know for sure the trash cans were metal? I heard one witness describe the trash cans as plastic barrels. It makes even more sense as they are typically supplied by rental vendors who also provide the rental port-o-lets for big events. They are far lighter and can be far more easier to store and longer lasting than metal ones.

The “lone wolf” attack is PRECISELY what AlQ and the IslamoFascists are cultivating now. There will be vanishingly few major attacks like the one on 9/11 in the future. The methodology and general suggestions will be propagated by internet, twitter, and other such devices. The attacks will be carried out by the IslamoFascist disciples of those terrorist organizations.
Organizations like CAIR who cheerlead instead of strongly condemning ought to be considered part of the AlQ network, not as a “voice of the moderates”.

My new working theory is that Blitzer and many like him get payoffs from certain groups. If they offend those groups, the payoffs stop coming. I’m not saying it’s cash in an envelope or anything like that. Maybe it’s just the subtle reminder that his job/bonus depends on staying in line.
Imagine that your boss is really fat, sloppy and eats like a pig. It’s very obvious, everyone knows it, but you tiptoe around it because you want to keep your job. Insulting him is not going to get you a bonus or promotion and it might even get you fired.

That’s certainly true. In fact, once organized, American patriots are the best fighters on Earth, bar none.
The problem is that they’re not organized, and I don’t see these people organizing until there’s a jackboot crushing their faces. It will take some serious existential threat to organize patriots and conservatives, such as interfering with their Saturday afternoon barbecue or preventing them from rising Monday morning to go worship mammon. Cutting off supplies to paint remodeled bathrooms pouty purple might also motivate conservatives to organize.
