Sen. Marco Rubio, elected to Congress in 2010 on a wave of Tea Party support, earned praise Sunday from prominent members of the Republican establishment for leading the party toward support for immigration reform. David Brooks, the New York Times' resident conservative, called Rubio "heroic" on NBC's Meet the Press, while former George W. Bush aide Karl Rove praised Rubio's leadership on Fox News Channel's Fox News Sunday.
While some inside-the-Beltway Republican stalwarts appear to approve of Rubio's gambit, others are more skeptical. Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has led opposition to Rubio and his "Gang of Eight," while conservative activists have battled the rush to pass legislation that has yet to be released and almost no one has read.

sellout.
“Establisment Showers Praise on Rubio”
Makes me think of a bunch of gang members standing on a street corner and menacingly “checking their packages”
every fifteen seconds.
IMHO
Rubio is acting just like a Democrat, rushing to pass a bill nobody will have time to debate and read.
That should tell conservatives all they need to know.

Sunday MTP round table discussion (4/14/2013 via breitbart)
DAVID BROOKS, NEW YORK TIMES: You know, things are working well, especially on immigration. I got to salute the gang of eight. They gang, so far in the Senate has been working well. The administration finally gave them space. I think Marco Rubio is a hero. He said earlier today he is not thinking about the politics. I hope he's thinking about the politics. The politics are going to be tough for him if he runs for President with this. It's heroic what he's doing and so it's Senators acting in prudent and courageous ways this week. I think that's true on guns but especially immigration, it's been a good week for those of us who watch this.
Good news.
It clearly showed Rubio’s use of Tea Party to gain power for his own cause.
Rubio is a hero today to the left until they have to get rid of him.
No, thanks.
Rubio is a politician. One thing a politician does is try to minimize their opposition particluarly when the opposition has control over money bags.
One thing he has done which I’m pleased with was to raise the issue of 2nd class citizenship of American citizens in Mexico and this is where I believe the US should be going on the question of amnesty.
Now he could and should draw into any of his arguments is the need to have foreigners come in and do jobs citizens of this country should and could do. In doing so bring up population control, support of abortion, pogroms and controls furthured by this socialist regime. Which works against creating a replenishing supply of workers and their taxes to keep the system working.
As far as Mexico is concerned here is what I’m talking about.
When is the treatment of American citizens in Mexico and their rights vs US treatment of Mexicans going to be an issue when we discuss amnesty ?
This is a question: Should Mexican citizens when in the US be given the same rights American citizens are given while in Mexico? This has yet to appear on any US legislator’s questionaire from either chamber....ASK YOUR FEDERAL LEGISLATORS WHY IT HASN’T
What makes it necessary for US to subjugate our sovereignty because of available cheap labor ?
Ever hear of reciprocal aggrements ? These are arranged to protect the rights of American citizens working or living in other countries.
Why is it when it comes to citizens of other countries we are required to offer them the same privledges as we do to US citizens? But when it comes to US citizens who get in trouble or attempt to do business in other countries they do not get the same treatment their citizens get.
Americans cant own coast land in Mexico. And get no title to it elsewhere. If they run out of cash theyll get unceremoniously sent back or put in jail untill some relative comes up with the fresh. Thats just for starters as for granting them voting privledges yea lets give Mexican citizens that right when American citizens vote in their elections
So, the question is, who is going to string up the likes of David Brooks on the lamposts first- the Tea Party who view him as a traitor or the Marxists who view him as a useful idiot with no further value?
Mmmmmmmm......the Socratic method.
Pleasee note: I am FOR immigration reform and even open to doing something about the millions here illegally.
However I will NOT accept some bill that is rushed through CONgress and passed with mostly Democrat votes and has weak border security provisions and so called “triggers” that will be judged whether they are met or not by the LYING administration.
Rubio is claiming these triggers are “tough” !!!!
Give me a break.
The guy is either a fool or lying.
Theory was he won't run for President...but is a strategy to take on this controversial issue now, get it done to help usher in Jeb Bush later (paraphrase)
CACKLE---Looks like the pukes have been entertaining at the Four Seasons----Lindseed, Ryan and Newt have also been puke-duped, repeating the current GOP mantra: "I support the Rubio immigration reform plan"
Rubio is now getting his marching orders from the neocons. Invasion-crazed neocons want immigration reform at any cost because they need impoverished Hispanics as cannnon fodder for future puke invasions/land wars.
The pukeneos never saw an immigrant they didn't want to subsidize with tax dollars---dating back to WW 11.
==================================================
Mmmmm......sure would like to be a fly on the wall at the Four Seasons---where the puke elite meet downtrodden GOP'ers---- over chilled Cristal, imported room temp Brie and water crackers.
Course there's gonna be A LOT MORE puke-invasions and land wars since the pukes duped Bush into invading Iran, now that the entire 100 million-strong Muslim world is aflame with hatred for the US, Americans, and Christians.
I guess the pukes will have to use darts and a Mideast map to decide which country they want the US to invade next (cackle).
“while former George W. Bush aide Karl Rove praised Rubio’s leadership on Fox News Channel’s Fox News Sunday. “
Of course he did. He’s part of the Norquist/Conda/gangof8/SPLC lobbyist/money laundering AMNESTY cabal.
[snip] And hes [Norquist] personally doing fine: ...he gets two-thirds of his funding from two big corporate billionaire-backed nonprofits: the Center to Protect Patients Rights, which donated $4,189,000 to Americans for Tax Reform in 2010, and Karl Roves Crossroads GPS, which gave him $4 million.

I presume you meant Iraq, not Iran. Also, with illegal alien amnesty in full blossom, the neocons won’t need a map to throw darts at. The invasion is coming to them (us) now.
Just let little Marco continue to commit political suicide. Then we won’t have to worry about trying to block his candidacy for Pres in 2016.
Bring the troops home and put them on the damn border.
I would support that......
