A Connecticut gun-maker announced on Wednesday it intends to leave the state, just six days after passage of restrictive gun control legislation, while two other manufacturers said they are considering relocation offers from other states.
Manufacturers also plan to lobby the states congressional delegation next week to make sure they hear from our side, said Mark Malkowski, president of Stag Arms in New Britain.
Bristol-based PTR said in a statement posted on its website that it has not decided where it will move, but has commitments from most employees to relocate. The company makes military-style rifles and employs more than 40 people. PTR Vice President John McNamara said the company expects to make a more formal announcement about a move within six weeks.
The Connecticut Valley in Connecticut and western Massachusetts has been home to a large gun industry dating to the Revolutionary War.

Rooster Redux: You are absolutely correct.
YOU CANNOT HAVE A SANE CONVERSATION WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE IGNORANT, STUPID BY CHOICE, AND IN SOME CASES, PURELY EVIL.
Just leave. Take your companies and employees to a state where they will be free from these marxist-wannabes and delusional Democrats.
I left Maryland long ago. The best thing I ever did. Look at it now, the shithole of the Middle Atlantic states, led by Marxist O’Malley, powermad Miller, and with far-left congressthings like Van Hollen, Steny Hoyer (a legend in his own mind), Mikulski, small in physical height (nothing against it), but small in mind and intelligence.
Like the So. Vietnamese and Cambodians did, “VOTE WITH YOUR FEET”, and never look back until your state is cleaned up (not in my lifetime).
Was a very nice varmint gun.
Ruger, like Colt, S&W, and the rest will move...just give them time.
And don't hold your disdain for Bill Ruger against the Company...they make a fine product.
all makers should move south where guns are looked at as friendly, if the socialist north wants their radical left utopia then screw them
all gun owners and conservatives need to get the hell out of the socialists states, the north east has gone to crap and how anyone today can live there with all the laws and socialism and radical left wing agendas today is beyond me.
My wife moved to north east FL, St Johns county\

and she said it was the best move she ever did, we are surrounded by fisherman and woman, hunters, gun owners and conservatives thankfully
sorry but having going north of VA is like being in another country
You ever get a chance get down here. just last week two families from WI who are very conservatives, very pro gun, pro marriage hunters etc and they love it thus far as does their family who moved here a couple of years ago.
north east FL St Augustine

New England, how could such a beautiful area, with all it’s history be taken over by a bunch of socialists, how the founders must be turning in their graves
like my wife, she moved out of MA and moved here
St Augustine north east FL
http://enrnow.votesjc.com/FL/St_Johns/42920/112743/en/md.html?cid=0103
and she said it was the best move she ever did.
She now knows her vote counts, she has so much freedom, no emissions on cars, no inspections, low taxes, no state tax, have fires in back yards etc
When she went back she hated it, she hated the north and not because of just the weather but all of it, the bad drivers, high taxes, bad roads, corruption, anti everything marriage, guns etc
Like you said, vote with your feet and get of of the north east.
I’ll add , take your hard earned money and stop giving it to the socialist state
Get out as soon as you can
Did ya take the hint, or are you still waiting for her to send that bus ticket?
You know I’m just messin’ with ya, right? I’m a complete sucker for an opening like that :-)
Alexander Hamilton and his federalist who called that region home probably are rolling in shame.
In any event while i regret the tragity that has befallen the north east I am glad to see the arms industry moving to our lands. If the day should ever come that we should have to fight for our rights, their expertise shall be much appreciated.
Don’t just talk about it: DO IT!
Revolt is coming.
Sadly you are right, we are a very badly divided country.
Unfortunately conservatives are doing nothing more than fighting a rearguard action. We’re losing ground all over. There’s not a single area we’ve made forward progress. Gun control and immigration we’re being sold out by our own.
People will simply NOT comply, period in regards to gun control.
Let’s not fall into the trap of calling semi-autos “battle” or “assault” rifles. It empowers the gun-grabbers by affirming their bias.
Look for more gun companies to leave CT and the northeast.
