AN HONEST DOUBTER

The often heard quip, "He or she is a doubting Thomas," usually is given in a negative way...someone who can't get with the program or is not a team player. The origin of this statement goes to the passage in John's Gospel. Thomas, who somehow missed the first appearance of the resurrected Jesus to the rest of the disciples, states he will not believe until he sees and touches the Lord. He is a realist, a man who is shattered in his faith after witnessing the arrest and death of Jesus. He is honest enough to admit it, stating clearly his needs.

When we go through traumatic experiences, and are shaken to the very fiber of our being, we need special reassurance. Although Jesus says to Thomas, "Stop doubting and have faith," notice He still meets Thomas where he needs it most, and in a manner just right for us. We must be honest about our need for Him, admitting our doubts and lack of faith. Unlike pop psychology our strength does not come from within us, but from outside from the God who knows best. "Come and experience, and go forth in faith to love and serve the Lord."

Sunday Morning Coffee Bump.

Well, no nobody from Oklahoma is playing in any of the NCAA tournaments but it looks like the CBS station in Wichita Kansas won't have to worry about breaking into an NCAA final with their hometown college team playing.

There is a forecast for severe weather in parts of Oklahoma and Kansas and everyone at KWCH was sitting on pins and needles thinking about how they would cover severe weather tomorrow night with Wichita State playing in the NCAA final at the same time.

They won't have to worry about it now. Louisville beat Wichita State in the Final Four yesterday 72-68.

Had a SERIOUS mugging after 5:30pm. Don’t remember the news or much else tin about 7:00pm.

“Wanna come help shovel snow? I thought spring was here, but almost 5” has fallen and more is coming.” Why I live in Southeast Arizona, our temp was 77 degrees yessterda today is to be warmer.
