NBC's Al Roker was appalled by a poll of conspiracy theories that showed 37 percent of those surveyed believed global warming was a hoax. During a discussion, on Wednesday's Today show, of a Public Policy Polling survey that included respondents' views on everything from the John F. Kennedy assassination to the existence of Bigfoot, co-host Willie Geist reported: "Global warming is a hoax. Thirty-seven percent believe that."
To which Roker responded with an audible, "Wow!" and then later scolded global warming skeptics: "Okay, two words: Superstorm Sandy!" (video after the jump)
The following is the relevant exchange as it was aired on the April 3 Today show:

I’m appaled that it is only 37%!!!!!!
I never heard of Al Roker. What does he do? Sounds like he must be a comedian or some such joker.
“Al Roker is a Hoax.”
I used to find refuge in The Weather Channel until old poopy pants showed up.
we all ain’t assholes Al
Al Roker appals me.
Roker has a point - we never had bad storms or hurricanes until a few years ago when Al Gore told us about global warming... Before that time all weather around the globe was peaceful - calm - only soft breezes. Unicorn stuff...
GMTA!
:-)
Al Toker.
Anyone stupid enough to site a single weather event as proof of climate change is too stupid to be on TV. Hurricane Sandy was not a particularly strong hurricane. What made sandy memorable was it hit the NJ/NY region from the worst possible direction at a slow pace which greatly amplified the storm surge. By the way weren’t low elevation islands like the Maldives suppose to be under water by now?
Al ..the same guy who thinks it is funny he pooped his pants at the White House?
