Bill O’Reilly tonight responded to criticisms from the right over his commentary last week that gay marriage opponents need to do more than just “thump the Bible” if they want to win the argument. After a Talking Points Memo largely focused on mocking liberal media attempts to gin up a feud between himself and Rush Limbaugh, O’Reilly brought on Laura Ingraham, who actually told O’Reilly he was wrong in saying what he said. O’Reilly was stunned with Ingraham, shouting over her and telling her “I’m disappointed in you.”

Ingraham first surprised O’Reilly by agreeing that there actually is a feud of sorts going on between him and people like Limbaugh, given Limbaugh’s harsh condemnation of O’Reilly’s commentary. O’Reilly dismissed the idea he and Limbaugh are enemies, saying “I don’t care what he says, he can say whatever he wants.”
Ingraham agreed with O’Reilly that gay marriage opponents are not always good at making their case, but said O’Reilly unnecessarily insulted them. O’Reilly insisted he made an “honest point” about gay marriage, and shocked Ingraham by saying that opponents cannot cite the Bible in a policy argument. Ingraham told O’Reilly he was being disrespectful, which led O’Reilly to tell Ingraham he’s “disappointed” in her.
O’Reilly scolded her for criticizing her for his “accurate description,” saying he doesn’t really care whether it was unhelpful or if anyone took offense, it was an “accurate and honest attack.”

The Bill O’Reilly show is taped. They could have redone things and cut out the Laura Ingram segment. It went on because this is what brings in the viewers and ratings
(and yes, I can say that, as my surname originally started with an O before it was dropped).
They are all a bunch of gas bags who play for the audience. O’Reilly is the biggest fraud of them all.
He belongs back on Inside Edition. Phony of the first order. A real conman. All the way to the bank.

Here’s the way it works. One wrong step and you don’t come back on. Everyone expecting to come back on with the rude one knows the ground rules. You can only go so far in attacking the rude one. I’ve seen that with all of his guests and regulars. The rude one has gotten worse lately. His attack on Laura tonight was typical because he knew he was in the wrong. Later the rude one admitted to Krauthammer he should have used a different term then “Bible thumper”. If the jackass had manned up he would have said that to Laura right up front.
No place for you BOR in a conservative world. Glen Beck! Re-double your effort to buy a Cable channel on the TV! We need a really right of center point of view! Maybe Oprah is ready to sell her failed ego station? Maybe Trump can back you or Sarah Palin? The New Conservative order is coming like a running squid of Minutemen—not a moment too soon. Hey, I think it could even make money—lots of money!
This was not orchestrated and rehearsed. Laura was genuinely ticked and discomfited....O'Reilly was his genuine arrogant and dominineering self.
I, too, would have ripped my mike off and walked off the set if I had to sit through O'Reilly's sadism. Laura showed class in the face of piggish behavior.
The Bloviator is revealing more and more who he really is. He pretends to be a practicing Catholic, yet the other night he stated over and over that he believes the Biblical miracles are allegorical.
And then he slams Christian believers who oppose gay marriages as "Bible thumpers" (translation.....redneck, ignorant and bitter Bible and gun clingers).
The man is getting more unhinged every night.
We constantly rake Chris Matthews over the coals for his certifiable raving lunacy on the air, and guess who is rapidly gaining ground on the Tingler..........none other than the high and mighty BO'R.
I feel for Laura. She's under contract with Fox and has to eat the insults, the bullying and the condescension from O'Reilly. It was so uncomfortable to watch this segment tonight I still am shaken a couple hours later.

We are falling for the commie’s divide and conquer. I can nit pick anyone all day. They can find my faults all day long too. How many journalists can we name who are good and we agree with?
First thing I turn off after the news, when I watch the news, is BOR.

I saw the exchange and was disgusted with him. I immediately emailed him and told him so. He may have high ratings, but they are negative ratings.

O’Reilly’s beef was that religious types give only arguments based on religion to oppose gay marriage, rather than those based on policy considerations - but they’e not interested in policy arguments - and whether O’Reilly understands it or not, eventually the issue will end up being a religious one - the government can grant gays all the marital rights at its disposal, but they will not be satisfied until they achieve the right of the spiritual, emotional and sacred marriage provided under religions - and the government can not order any religion to grant these rights in opposition to thousands of years of its teaching and practice - not even Sotomayor and Kagan could go along with that.....
After years of posting comments I’ve become convinced that very few FR’s don’t go past the first two comments to read and post their comments but post their inanities which either duplicate other comments nor offer an insight into the topic which honestly does not contribute to the discussion. But simply react to the caption. How about thinking and reading the topic about the subject being offered before your offer a comment ?
If that’s the way he treats his friends, it’s amazing that he has any at all. Maybe he doesn’t...for long.

I wonder if Laura's subbing will continue. Michelle Malkin used to be a regular on O'Reilly's show, then - poof - she was gone.
Personally, I think that O'Reilly's high ratings are in spite of him, not due to him. If Laura or Mark Levin had that prime 8 PM slot, Fox's ratings would be even better.
