I’m not a fan of conspiracies, but once again, the oldest person in the U.S. mysteriously dies only a few months after being awarded the title. There has to be more to this.

May Elsie Thompson RIP.
I do not want to live to be 113, but I may reconsider at 112.

And....my aunt turns 103 this month. She still lives on her own & uses the internet. Her physical & mental health are still excellent.

Sometimes I awake at night with a terrible fright that I might not at last acheive my lifelong dream of wrestling away the crown from the current titleholder. The suspense is killing me. It happened again tonight whilst I was minding me own slumber. This golden hope I have worked so hard for, and sacrificed not a few promising upstarts along the race, promises incontinent glory with a lifetime supply of depends. I shall prevail in the end.

Depending on the age of the next “oldest person”, we may have seen the last American to have lived in 3 different centuries. This one was born in 1899.
Darn. I am sad to see that link to history pass away.

The oldest person in the United States has died at age 113, just weeks before her 114th birthday. But they were able to save the baby - Larry the Cable Guy

Oldest Person?
A title that you don’t hold onto for very long.

According to Wikipedia’s “List of living supercentenarians”, there are 10 people in the world still alive who were born in the 1800s.
