Staten Island residents already suffering from the ravages of Hurricane Sandy say they are now seeing their neighborhoods infiltrated by squatters and looters.
As CBS 2s Dick Brennan reported Wednesday, when darkness sets in on Wavecrest Street in New Dorp, people say squatters make their move crashing empty homes wrecked by the hurricane.

Obma’s people?
Major media types live uptown(upper west side-new money) or out on the Long Island. Some live in northern Jersey. None live on Staten Island. That is where the blue collar working class folks live. No self respecting rich liberal would be caught dead there.
Staten Island was for years was where they dumped the garbage from Manhattan. It is one big landfill.
The best in the comment section is, “Don’t tell Big Sis, or she’ll be buying up canes, rakes and baseball bats!”
Maybe the homeowners should start a rumor that squatters are mysteriously disappearing. That should send them scurrying out of the area.
It is a shame with NY state; there is beautiful land and resources, but no opportunities.
Yup. Used to love going up in the Catskills. Absolutely gorgeous in many places. But, “No Frickin’ Frackin’” allowed.
“Have you ever seen the Catskill Mountains?”
“No. But I’ve heard they do a pretty good job on mice.”
The sqautters;
That really got me. I have “several” lethal weapons here in Texas, and that man has nothing to protect himself or his property. The ones doing the squatting and looting know they can do what they want since no one has a weapon that shoots projectiles in their direction. That is sad.
I determined years ago, never buy a house in a subdivision that had “water” of any description in the title. We have “River Plantation” in this county and it floods when there is a lot of rain. I didn’t look there when I was looking for a house to buy because of its name and I was right not to look there.
There’s a community in Orange County, Calif. called Surfside which is prone to flooding during unusually high tides generated by winter storms. In 1953, 1963 and 1983, Surfsiders could go surfing in their own living rooms.
And it’s the same with the left’s faux concern over military (and civilian) deaths only if/when there is a Republican in the White House. As soon as Obama was elected, they suddenly couldn’t care LESS.
I still hike a lot in Rockland/Orange counties; not as remote as the Catskills, but a much shorter drive. The Catskills are incredible; I used to camp a lot by Hunter Mountain.
Mr. Sumner better not have any more than 7 tines in that rake (even if it is machined for 10), or he could be in BIG trouble. After all, this is Nanny Doomberg's New York!
No doubt obama voters.
As though guns and ammo needed yet another reason to jump off the shelves!
“first of all, it wasnt a hurricane....”
THANK YOU!
