A distraught mother as told how she pleaded with young robbers to spare her toddler's life before they shot him dead as he slept in his stroller.
Sherry West was pushing her 13-month-old son Antonio yards from their home in Brunswick, Georgia, early yesterday morning when she was approached by two African-American boys.
She told how one of them, who looked about 15, demanded money from her and threatened to kill her if she didn't give him any. She told him she didn't have any.
'He said: "Well, I'm going to kill your baby", and I said "Please don't kill my baby."
Ms West added: 'I put my arms over my baby and then he shoved me and then he shot my baby right in the head.' Ms West began CPR on Antonio but it was in vain and the infant, who had been sleeping when he was shot, died at the scene of the 9am attack.
The child's mother suffered a bullet wound to her leg which needed hospital treatment but was allowed home soon afterwards.
Antonio's father Louis Santiago said he wished he had been there to protect his son.
The robbers are said to be African-American, with one aged about 13-15 years and the other slightly younger. The elder one, who shot the infant, is of thick build with curly hair, while the younger one is aged 10-12. They fled on foot, taking nothing.
Ms West said she only realised the gun was real when she saw that the youth had shot her child dead.
At a news conference after the attack, Mayor Bryan Thompson said: 'This is obviously just a terrible day in the city of Brunswick made even more so by the senseless killing of a young child, and it appears perpetrated by children themselves.

Agreed. A...permanent removal from society is mandated. Simply awful.
um... something smells about this.
I suspect there is more to this story.
It needs verification. So much is not the truth in the media. Have to give this one a little more time then may return to original statement if true.

Many years back, I lived in North Carolina, way out in the country, it was 50/50 white/black. Everybody was quite poor for the most part and yet no real crime or racial problems like we see today. Yet even back then, there were racial problems in urban areas.
I don't have the answers, just wish it wasn't how it seems to be.
Do not insult feral animals!!
My suspicions were triggered as well. The police in the Susan Smith case you mentioned performed very well, quietly investigating ALL possibilities and solving the case in a week or two, unlike the Boston police who swallowed Charles Stuart’s story whole.

sheesh
However since they are now felons, after their sentence they should be deported!
There was video of the corner and stroller plus comments from the mayor of Brunswick.
This story matches what was on the news last night.

But that spoils a perfectly good rant.
Al? Jesse?? Obama??? Crickets!
Agreed. Something about this story isn't passing the smell test, but I can't quite put my finder on it. Need more data.
If this were my child, I would do everything I could to see that the perps walk, so I could kill them in some prolonged medieval way myself.
This was a diversity race hate crime.
I hope the urban white shame face socialist idiots are happy with their hate and envy for power tribal games. It will get much worse if we don’t stop them from preaching their hate in schools, politics and in entertainment. The discrimination, hate and murder will filter up to white limo-liberals.
I used to think that but they sure vote alike and have similar cultural dysfunction
We are raising a generation of feral animals.
Monstrous and sociopathic
