The process of approving the proposal has been unfolding remarkably smoothly for a divided Congress that has gone to the brink repeatedly over spending issues.

“It’s not only a bad idea, it is fatal to the society that adopts the practice.”

Remind me...that’s pretty much the route that the EU and Japan have taken, is it not?

Europe and Japan are two societies that have no money left over for anything after they pay their medical bills ~ if, in fact, they pay them.

Not gonna be much of a bill. The furloughs stay, yet the government wants to ship 80+ billion overseas. Where's the justice in that?

And something else I just found out today. Government contractors still get to work their 40 hour work week whereas the federal employees don't! Again, where's the justice in that?

And the furloughs are still on! I cannot believe that military contractors get to still work their 40 hour work weeks but civilian employees do not????? Why is no one crying foul over this?

I honestly believe now that at the end of the calendar year thousands of civilian federal employees are going to be RIF'd, and yours truly could very likely be amongst them.

No one in my office thought the furloughs would start. I told them it would. "Oh," they would say "the anti-Obama doomsayer is at it again." Now I get to stay, "I told ya so."

Now that RIF's look like a certainty at the end of the calendar year they will really start bugging out. Will I once again be able to say, "I told ya so?"

We all just got screwed by Congress and the President.

We must react harshly NOW!!

Dude, let's face it, the only "harsh reaction" they would understand now is the feeling of being dragged out in the street and thrown to the curb.

Unless you are advocating a complete overthrow of the US Government, nothing else will accomplish what is required to save this nation, short of a genuine Christian revival that is.

The voting block is now primarily made up of the "takers" and there are not enough of the "makers" to vote the Marxists / Communists / Socialists out of office.

We are witnesses to the degeneration and destruction of a nation. This will not be a pleasant experience.

In other words the Republicans roll over yet again.

Aw come on, none of us expected anything different. Never am I voting for another pubbie, which I guess that means I am through voting in national elections. OBAMA STOLE THIS LAST ELECTION - THERE IS JUST NO WAY THIS MAJORITY OF VOTERS ARE THIS STUPID. I have been around a few decades and no one will ever convince me that he is elegible, and that he won 2012 fair and square.

The furloughs are are not well considered way around the first RIF requirement which is that the veterans be retained and those without military service be let go ~ bearing 100% of the brunt of salary loss.

I'd be organizing a lawsuit the purpose of which would be to cut the hours on non-vets first, or let them go ~ whichever.

NAF and FMS employees in the DoD will be able to work too. So, Italy will get their support, and the base social worker will be busy...
