A Massachusetts principal has been criticized for canceling his school's Honors Night, saying it could be 'devastating' to the students who worked hard, but fell short of the grades.

MyFoxBoston.com reports that David Fabrizio, principal of Ipswich Middle School, notified parents last week of his plan to eliminate the event.

Good point and I know even conservative states/cities are being influenced by the very vocal minorities, but I’m getting old and probably won’t live long enough to see things much worse. My kids, on the other hand, will but probably won’t be able to stop it. I think we would be okay for a long time if the federal government stayed out of things, but they won’t.

You may very well be right. It may indeed take a purge or a war to save it.

God help us if that is so.

The Europeans looked at the American Civil War with a combination of fascination and horror. They couldn't believe the way we were chewing each other up in vast numbers on a huge scale with the new concepts of industrialized war.

If we go to war in that fashion in this day and age, the world will have never seen anything like it.

If that is what it comes to, so be it, but I would prefer to see if there is another way.

But, you may be right. We may be a dead man walking already, and waiting for the other shoe to fall. I will be frank...I am not looking forward to that shoe falling.

From 2003

“More public high schools dropping class ranking”

“Research by City University of New York sociologist Paul Attewell supports their arguments. His 2001 study shows that, except for those graduating at the very top of their classes, students at academically rigorous high schools were rejected by Ivy League schools even though their academic credentials were well above the median score of students admitted from less challenging schools.”

I bet it’s more important now to be a minority than a valedictorian.

Yep! Punish the achievers to avoid hurting the ones who didn’t try hard enough. Typical of our school systems these days. All the more reason to home school.

Which of those students would YOU hire if you needed a worker? The one who slacked off or the one who worked for what he/she got? Simple answer to that one.

Why bother at all. Leave the precious snowflakes at home until they’re 18 and automatically issue a high school diploma. OTOH, NYC says 80% of their graduates can’t read??? How pray tell do they Twitter, or use Facebook or read email or play video games?????

I dread what I feel is coming.

I have had a wonderful life. I have never felt hunger or the privations of involuntary exposure to the elements at their worst (at least not that I couldn’t have escaped from). I have been able to work, and I have been able to experience life, liberty, and happiness.

I have been one of the most fortunate humans ever to inhabit the face of the earth.

But the concept of having to walk along a frozen New England road with no shoes or coat, nowhere to go, no food and no money is not an appealing thought. And everytime I think it can’t happen to me, I remember that we are only a few gallons of gas and a few days worth of food and water away from anarchy and chaos.

And I remember there were a lot of affluent Polish people in 1939 who did that walk on a frozen road with no shoes. I don’t want to be one of them.

Liberals are bent on attacking and destroying the most efficient and productive generator of wealth (capitalism) in their attempts to achieve their utopian goals, and a darn state line isn’t going to stop them from trying.

reason number 4 to homeschool, institute vouchers, and defund all public schools.

I have been a beliver in a Federal Government, but only in the way our founders believed in that concept (those like Washington and Hamilton who were proponents).

What we see now in Washington is what our founders feared. What we see is a monstrosity, inhabited by people who are mostly (but not all) leeches who see government as their meal ticket for as long as they can carry on successful political campaigns.

The fix, I think, without civil war, is first giving state’s rights back to the states, and secondly, weaning states off of money such as the federal highway funds, which are used as a behavioral lever by the goverment...if you do this in your schools, outlaw this behavior and do something else, you will be sure to get your slice of the federal pie (highway funds, etc)

I grew up in South Florida and remember when the first Cubans arrived. Most were upper middle class or professionals in Cuba before Castro. They arrived in Miami with the clothes on their backs and a few dollars and most didn’t speak English. I find it amazing that in one generation, sometimes two, they have achieved what they have. But it wasn’t easy. Contrast that with the black Americans who have had so much handed to them.

My point is even the downtrodden who want to can fight their way back, given the opportunity. The question is, after Obama, will be still have an opportunity?

The states, red and blue, seem to have a very hard time saying “no, thanks” to the federal government dollars, no matter what they have to do for them.

how can anyone even raise a child today up in the north east.

Got my wife out of MA a few years ago and got her in the south and it was the best move she ever did, infact today she said we are so lucky to live in this republican county.

MA
Lexington had a father arrested because he wanted to know what hsi child was being told at school about homosexuals

another town is dong a play with Adam and Steve in it instead of Adam and Eve and mocking Christians with a massive pro homo agenda

Then this

Oh and MA takes tax payers money and gives it to the homosexual agenda while they ignore the pot holes on nearly every road up there.

What a cess pit the north east has become and if only we could figure out how to stop these loons moving south

neither can I , neither can I.
How anone can live in those kind of states is beyond me, but then knowing the state takes your money and gives it ot the left wing agendas like homosexuality is sickening

I’m thinking your grand kids sure know about homosexuals, turd poking andhave no problem with it either after being in those schools up there and yes I lived up there and got my wife out and my children out.

The state is a cess pit, ask your grand kids what teacher teaches them and what kind of classes they have, you know something like gender equality, which is really cross dressing and self mutilation

they;re like locusts who move on mass after destroying a place, .

When I see a MA plate here I cringe and hope they don;t like it here too much,
They;ve ruined their old states and the move to ruin another state bringing their ignorant looney votes with them while they still vote in their old state.

Youve heard this before I bet as many others here say this
What;s the diffeence between a yankee and a damn yankee?

Yankee is someone who comes to visit and a damn yankee is someone who visits and likes it and wants to move here.

And when "Honors Night" doesn't have the acceptable number of disadvantaged minorities attending, Principal Fabrizio won't have to face the wrath of the poverty pimps who want to know why he runs a racist middle school.

Excellent point and highly likely...

Or worse he is made to include students who are not "honors" but are are minorities to look "PC"
