DHS tells Congress it still can't measure border security

Top homeland security officials told Congress Wednesday they still don’t have a way to effectively measure border security — a revelation that lawmakers said could doom the chances for passing an immigration legalization bill this year. Three years after the Obama administration scrapped the previous yardstick, which measured miles of the border under “operational control,” top Customs and Border Protection officials told Congress the new measure they’re working on won’t be ready for public use any time in the near future. The revelation stunned lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, who said that without a way to

If you are unable to measure border security, how would you know if you have any?

Kinda like “educators” can’t quantify (or qualify) their work.

Whatever good happens is due to them, whatever bad is the parent’s/guardian/’parental unit’ fault.

So we can’t tie pay to performance and you can’t be fired unless maybe you intentionally kill a kid.

“If you are unable to measure border security, how would you know if you have any?”

This is amazing. Only in the government would your primary reason for operating have no measurables. What does the DHS do all day?

“So what are we paying them for?”

We’re paying them to feel up old ladies and scare kids at our nation’s airports.

“But apprehensions actually ticked up in 2012, suggesting an increase in the illegal flow....In 2010, the last time the figure was reported, a government audit found just 44 percent of the border was under operational control.”

Puts the lie that there are fewer coming in to rest!

Their sole goal appears to be to allow terrorists
to bring WMD into America, while the DOJ arms
the terrorists.

But Nappy keeps saying the border is as or more secure than ever, she also says it’s safer.

To file impeachment proceedings against this President
would, of course, be unproductive. However, does not
the House have recourse to impeach cabinet officials?

Mexican, U.S. Media Too Scared To Cover Border Crime

Judicial Watch has for years reported on the discrepancy between reality and the administration’s line that the Mexican border is secure. The truth is that overwhelmed federal agents are increasingly attacked by heavily armed drug smugglers and the U.S. Border Patrol has ordered officers to avoid the most crime-infested stretches because they’re “too dangerous” and patrolling them could result in an “international incident” of cross border shooting.

On that same thread, ScottinVA asked this question:

Anyone else notice not a word has been printed in the past two years about the Buenos Aires National Refuge, that 80-mile-long strip at the Arizona border that has been essentially ceded to Mexico?

The border is not secure, but they don’t want to tell the truth so this is what they came up with...

40% of the 12 to 20 million illegal aliens came here legally and overstayed their visa. Securing the border will not be enough. We must have a fully operational system that tracks and deports visa overstays.
