Backup presidential limo on its way for Obama in Israel after fuel filling failure(Diesel)

One of the limousines in Barack Obama's fleet has broken after reports that it was mistakenly filled with the wrong fuel at the start of the US president's visit to Israel. Another limo is on its way from Jordan, according to Ma'an News agency, citing Israel's Channel 10, to replace one that was filled with diesel instead of gasolene.

Don't laugh!!
One of my best friends did that to his *mid-life crisis Vette*.
He finally bought a new Vette like he had when he was young.
He keeps extra diesel and gas in his barn, one night, running late, he pulled up to the barn, grabbed a couple of 5 gallon cans and fueled up.
He and his wife made it about 2 miles down the road.
The Vette was putting out smoke like a mosquito spraying truck.
Cost him $1500 to get the injectors and fuel rail cleaned out.
His wife spilled the beans about that little incident he was trying to hide, LOLOL!
He has never been able to live that down with his *good buddies*.
The guy is a pretty good *shade tree mechanic*, still can't see how he did that much stupid, says his son must have put the diesel cans in the wrong place :)

Sounds like the Beast does not have the Federally mandated gas tank openings. Otherwise, they could not have gotten the nozzle in the opening - diesel is a larger nozzle.

Accidentally? Or accidentally on purpose?

What effects did the Fed ex diesel suffer? Did he tell you?

He was I’m pretty sure driving the same truck that he messed up on and when I saw them that truck was in service and parked where he was doing a pickup.

So I’m pretty sure that the truck survived intact. He did tell me he got written up for doing it. I said “Bet you won’t do that again”. He said “nope - from now on I’m triple checking before I fill it up”.

Why did we all sense that there would be a Beast fail? A holy land would naturally have a visceral revulsion toward that which would defile it. Kind of like the need to vomit poison up out of the body.

Clearly, CO2 is a greenhouse gas. It cannot possibly have anywhere near the effects attributed to it all by itself, so it gets a boost from alarmists with computer models.

Balderdash.

The “greenhouse” effect itself is impossible, and in fact works in reverse, keeping the Earth from overheating in the day. Water is a massive heatsink, and that it its chief effect, moderation the differences betweeen night and day.

Our source of heat is the sun, and gasses that reflect heat reflect thousands of times more heat away than back in since there is scant heat to keep in and most of it is residual in the atmospheric gasses themselves, thus freely dissipates as much outward as inward.

Correct, they did fill it with gas instead of diesel.
The reporters have it reversed.
The beast is 8 tons and built on a truck chassis.
It has a diesel engine.

Yes, most of the solar energy is absorbed and reradiated away by the uppermost atmosphere, the thermosphere. Without it, the earth would be intolerably hot by day, just like the surface of the moon. All of the wavelengths of light that heat air never make it near the surface. However, light in the visible spectrum, the atmospheric spectral window, does heat the earth’s surface, which reradiates that energy as infrared light. So called greenhouse gases absorb this radiation and interact with and heat other atmospheric molecules. CO2 and water vapor both absorb this radiation and thereby warm the atmosphere. (I well understand that this in *not* how a greenhouse works. A greenhouse prevents convective transfer from the surface to the atmosphere by trapping a bit of the warmed atmosphere inside it.)

If not for greenhouse gases, the Amazon would be as cold as the Arctic. Greenhouse gases are essential for the survival of life on earth. Some argue that greenhouse gases are already in saturation as far global warming is concerned, they essentially absorb all the available infrared radiation. Doubling greenhouse gases would have, in their opinion, the same effect as spray painting a lump of charcoal flat black.

You’re simply using the word ‘greenhouse’ in place of the more proper term ‘heatsink.’

The larger the heatsink, the more moderate the temperature.

No, simply a heat sink. It is an energy converter. It transforms IR radiation into mechanical (thermal energy). A heat sink is anything with sufficient specific heat, O2, N2, argon, would all work to some extent.

The attribute that makes some gases greenhouse gases is polarization. Because H2O and CO2 have different atoms, with different electronegativity, they are electrically polarized. They molecules are set spinning by an external electrical field, like the E-field associated with IR radiation. These molecules than collide with unpolarized molecules and some or the energy from their spinning is imparted to the unpolarized molecules, heating the whole atmosphere.
