Inside a small Steubenville, Ohio, courtroom filled with sobbing and exhausting emotion, Judge Thomas Lipps found Trent Mays and Ma'lik Richmond guilty Sunday of raping an intoxicated 16-year-old girl. Lipps sentenced both defendants to a minimum of one year in a youth correctional institute with the determination for a longer sentence coming from child-service experts.

Mays received an additional year for transmission of nude photos, to be served after his rape sentence is completed. Mays and Richmond also will have to register as sex offenders for the rest of their lives.

"It provides a great incentive to do well," said Lipps, who could have ordered Mays and Richmond to remain behind bars until they turned 21.

“And would he be happy or upset about it? “

I would assume he’d feel pretty bad. Because his neighbor just molested him. A guilty pleasure would be a possibility. Sort of like if someone got him high, or encouraged him to rob a bank and he had some money in his wallet, or gang raped somebody with him and he got off.

His morals will have been corrupted. His soul will have been damaged. That is MY son. I did not conceive, deliver and rear him to be some cougar’s F*** toy.

A hospital test on the victim for drugging came back negative, testimony revealed.

Don't you know CNN is taking the side of crusading for the 'underprivileged black kid'? This article is selective with the facts. And don't forget the sympathetic interview with the black kid's deadbeat dad.

The statement is true, but she didn't go to the hospital until days later, and she never had a raped test for semen because the hospital said it was too late, since she had waited too long.

She supposedly couldn't remember anything after only about an hour after her first drink -- unless she was taking Jack Daniel's intravenously there's a very high likelihood she was drugged!

Bottom line -- I trust Localleaks and Anonymous more than I trust CNN!

As I said I don't know what is true or supposition. Testimony with cross should have some validity if we only had the transcripts.

I think what happened to you damaged you more than you know. The things you’re saying are creeping me out.

I guess you would like me to ask my son how he would feel if some neighbor woman molested him. I am not going to ask him that. That would be pervy of me.

As for your weird line of questioning, you seem to be implying that molested boys really want it. That is NAMBLA’s position. Have you been a member long?

“Sympathizing With Rapists? “

CNN may not be alone. FReeper elkfersupper seems to think molesting teens is fun stuff, too.

Relax, buddy.

Rape in cases like this is most often declared after remorse sets in.

As for myself, I gleefully accepted the offerings of the neighbor lady, would do so again, and neither she nor I have any regrets.

If you're going to be that pious, you should have thrown your hat into the Pope ring recently.

Your defense of child molesters is repulsive.

Apparently this young lady did not take to her abuse very kindly. Was something wrong with her?

“ULHASNAGAR: A 14-year-old girl on Monday night hanged herself from a ceiling fan at her Ulhasnagar home following alleged sexual abuse by the superintendent of an ashram where she studied in Class V. The victim’s family has refused to take the body from hospital unless the superintendent is arrested. The victim’s family has alleged that Vijay Patil (24), superintendent of Rajashri Sahu Maharaj Ashram, allegedly sexually abused the girl on false promises of marriage.

Following protests by the family outside the Central police station till late on Tuesday, an abetment to suicide case was filed against Patil. “We will take action after detailed inquiry,” said senior inspector M Pimpalkar.”

“Where is that? Somewhere the abused cannot just leave?”

Lots of corrupted minors have the chance to leave, and don’t. Is that then their fault? Not to a great degree. Consider the following scenarios.

Adult brother likes to huff. For fun he starts encouraging his ten year old brother to huff. Ten year old does it a little, then a lot, then all the time, and soon is a goony bird. Who committed a crime here? Adult brother or ten year old? Because no one was holding a gun to the ten year old. It was just encouragement, pressure, teasing, and the undue influence of a corrupt adult.

Dad needs some money. He gets 12 year old to lift some stuff from the store while he diverts the clerk’s attention. 12 year old is scared and anxious but does it. He doesn’t ask for help or cry out to they clerk. Next weekend, same thing. Less scary. Sometimes Dad takes him to McDonald’s afterwards. Soon he is lifting stuff for Dad frequently. Sometimes he lifts stuff for himself, too. Was Dad threatening to kill him? Was he forced? Are some of his actions willing? Yes. But who is culpable, mostly? Dad. Not the boy.

Pimp befriends 15 year old boy on line. Get him to take off his shirt for $5 to Paypal. Grooms him here, grooms him there, sends him porn, pays him to do this, pays him to say that, invites his friends. Boy was a little uneasy but lonely and figured, it’s just taking off a shirt. But soon he is doing more and more, starting to feel desireable, like a big shot, and in for a penny, in for a pound. Within a year or to he has regular clients and has started physically meeting them. Who is culpable here? Pimp.

Do you understand the concept of corrupting the morals of a minor? Minors are not adults. They are vulnerable in every way. You do not have to kidnap and assault a kid to get him to destroy himself. You just have to SEDUCE him. In that case the kid is a VICTIM. And even if they end up “liking” to some degree their molester, their pusher, their pimp, or their fence, it does not alter the fact that they have had their morals corrupted by a very wicked adult.

Okay. You win.

I was "corrupted".

I also liked it, enjoyed it and treasure the memories.

I also went on to enjoy a 26-year-long marriage, produce 2 well-educated productive children and to-date 4 grandchildren.

I intend to enjoy all of those things for the rest of my natural life (which is somewhere between 4 minutes and 40 years - probably closer to 4 minutes).

If you have a problem with that, take it up with your god or like-minded zealots.

I don’t really need to take it up with God. I haven’t molested anybody. I just hate to see molestation celebrated, on FR or anywhere else.

If you consider that someone who strongly opposes it is a zealot, then so be it, I’m a zealot. I wonder if someone seduced your son or your daughter, would it bother you? If so, at what age? 16’s ok? 10 is not? Where do you draw the line, and why?

My son is 29 years old and is a law enforcement officer.

My daughter is 31 years old and is an engineer working for a major defense contractor.

The question is irrelevant. If I could do it again, I would.

Next question.

“The question is irrelevant.”

No, it’s not; it’s hypothetical. Cast your mind back to when your kids were teens, or younger. When would you have been comfortable with them consorting sexually with an adult, whether male or female? You seem to think 16 was ok.

The question is, how young would fail to bother you, and what is your standard for it? At what point would you intervene, call the cops, or do whatever to protect your kids?

It’s important, because, your attitude affects other people. If you act like or say that it’s ok for an adult to have sex with a 16 year old, it makes parents think hey, maybe I should like my daughter date old Mr. Smith. Maybe my 16 year old son can visit the homo night at the disco. Maybe my suspicions about my daughter’s teacher are inappropriate on my part. So parents or other responsible adults are discouraged from speaking up. Like me, they might get accused of wanting to be a pope or of being overzealous.

Also, 16 year olds might think, well, I guess it’s ok that Mrs. Jones hugs me too long. I guess the sexy emails from Mr. Brown are ok for him to do. I guess that college boy is perfectly normal to insist I do this or that with him. I guess the coach’s interest in my friend is healthy and right. Etc. So they begin to think there is something wrong with THEM for being uncomfortable. They feel stupid to object or come forward, and those who enjoy molesting kids have scored another victory.

One thing is certain in life - no matter how dire the situation, it can always be made worse by adding a cop.

My son is a cop and he agrees with me.

More directly to your question - my great-grandfather met and married my great-grandmother when he was 36 and she was 13.

Call me a libertine, a libertarian, a hillbilly or whatever you want, but if it were not for those circumstances, I would not be here to conduct this ridiculous moral argument with you.

Good day.

“Call me a libertine, a libertarian, a hillbilly or whatever you want,”

I have not called you any names. I am just trying to get you to the point where you name your standard. If you don’t want to get there, that’s up to you.

As to your Grandma and Grandpa, if her parents gave permission I see nothing wrong with it. I have not argued against marriage of minor girls with parental consent.

The treatment of you by your neighbor was not marriage with parental consent.

Marriage is a protection, not an abuse. And parental consent is an extra layer for minors, to make sure the older party is not marrying for exploitative purposes. I am sure your Grandpa was not; and I would not argue against it.
