Sarah Palin rocked a packed ballroom here at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Saturday afternoon. The applause was roaring. The hollers many. The atmosphere crackling. In other words: Dog bites man.
Palin's speech, if you can call it that, was Palin at her most Palinesque: heavy on one-liners and folksy charm; light on, you know, anything resembling substance and solutions. Here, a sampling of Palin's many zingers:
"They talk about rebuilding the party. How about rebuilding the middle class?"
"They talk about rebuilding the GOP? How about restoring the trust of the people?"
"Let's be clear about one thing: We're not here to rebrand a party. We're here to rebuild a country."
"Barack Obama promised the most transparent administration ever. Barack Obama, you lie!"
"Mr. President, we admit it: You won! Now accept it and step away from the teleprompter and do your job."
"Remember no-drama Obama? Now it's all-drama Obama."
"More background checks? Dandy idea, Mr. President. Shoulda started with yours."
"[Obama] is considered a good politicianwhich is like saying Bernie Madoff was a good salesman."(continued)

Oh come on. Nobody is more conservative than me, but please, at long last can’t we agree that this woman is just not up to it? She lost me when she ran back in the house when Larry the Cable guy just wanted to say hello. Not a player, never was one, no matter how much I agree with her.
LOL...You go girl!
Damn right it’s underwhelming, the content of the discourse on this forum has gone completely to hell.
These folks are working overtime, lately.
And I’ve been here longer than anybody except Jim.
They like to criticize her voice. I say she should smoke two packs of cigarettes a day, then she can sound like Susan Estrich. Of course, she would also like like Estrich too.
Of course "Mother Jones" is playing to their audience. The editors know, of course, that CPAC is about firing up the base, not just putting forth policy statements and 'solutions'. But hewing more closely to the Constitution seems to me a GOOD solution to many of the problems our country faces today.
Mother Jones. Figures.
Well golly gee, I suggest you issue a complaint to the owner.
You know, the guy who had several pictures taken with Sarah Palin.
Would seem to be the thing for you to do, solid conservative that you are.
Busy as little bees they are, little dumb bees :)
Try as they might, they cannot silence her. Her very existence enrages the statists. If she is so irrelevant, why all the effort to further discredit and destroy her? If she ever chooses to run again we will see two things...the conservative base energized fully, and both the left and the Rino establishment acting in concert to destroy her politically once and for all.
Look, I’m not saying anything about this forum as a fount of conservative thought as it now exists, as Rush says “it is what it is”, whatever that means. I’m telling you and the readers that we’ve entered into uncharted territories.
We’re on the verge of becoming a socialist state and it seems inevitable. To avoid it, we’re going to have to go rogue, to use Ms. Palin’s phrase. We’re going to have to adopt Surgeon Ben Carson’s language, as well as his level of credentials.
We’re in a world of hurt, and we’re going to have to win the hearts and minds of the people like hasn’t been done since the revolutionary war. This doesn’t negate the admiration I personally have for Mrs. Palin, because I have much. It’s just that she’s been made a side show for better or worse and it’s time to become much more serious.
5 kids,approaching middle age.
Looks amazing.
thank you Jane, that is good enough.
Cruz and Sarah, now what a ticket that would be and lets not forget Col Allen West who was attacked and dis owned by the establishment elitist DC talking heads and cocktail party types.
Any of those 3 will do for me,
The good doctor is in favor of some type of gun control.
The good doctor has made pro homo statements.
He is on target in most things, but definitely not all.
Its just that shes been made a side show for better or worse and its time to become much more serious.
Apparently you subscribe to the MSM narrative, I don't and plus I don't fear them.
I subscribe to "Don't back up, reload" in a whole lot of areas.
I loved her speech,my fav.Haven’t seen all of Annie’s speech yet but I liked what I heard so far. Carson outstanding. My son walked through and I backed up his speech. My son told me about seeing his movie Gifted hands which I didn’t know about and dang if it didn’t come on lifetime at 130. Just dang, have it taped.
Sarah is just awesome. Ted Cruz giving her the credit for his election was kind of cool.
She’s smarter than the people at Mother Jones, who still think Marxism is the wave of the future.
It’s not that I subscribe to the MSM, I’m merely a realist. Do you not know how a marginalized political personality can be a detriment to any cause? For better or worse she’s been marginalized for a number of specific reasons, most not of her own doing. This is serious business, I’m not sure of Ben Carson’s stances on a variety of issues, I was merely using him as an example of the type of definite and forceful language needed to be used in attacking this administration.
I’m afraid for this country, I’ve never felt this way before now, and I’m becoming an old man, I am merely pointing out the reality that we’re way too far gone for sideshows, we’re in a situation that requires drastic and definite seriousness, and sad to say, Mrs. Palin doesn’t provide it.
