The Colorado gun debate is heating up. Companies are threatening to move, rape victims are ridiculed for testifying in committee hearings that they desire guns for self-protection, and potential victims are instructed to rely on rape whistles and call boxes.
Now the states sheriffs have entered the fray, expressing support for the Second Amendment, and according to El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa, the officers are getting some blowback from the Democratic Party.
In an interview Saturday morning with Jeff Crank on 740 AM KVOR radio, Maketa said 30 Colorado sheriffs went to the state capitol to speak out against restrictive gun control legislation.

I can hear the noise of 100,000 Coloradoans packing up and moving to Texas as we speak.
This old Coloradan is thinking about it.
They are going to ram all of these unconstitutional laws through. 1 million protestors could show up at the capital and they would still do it. They know if every damn one of them gets thrown out of office that the [insert profanity here] Republicans will never repeal the laws. They never do.The courts? Please, don't make me laugh.
I wish I could argue with a single word of that. Have you ever noticed how often representatives of the Democratic [sic] party need to burn villages to save them? I think they just like destroying villages.

Remember, the highest ranking officer in any county is the Sheriff. No Fed or Fed officer out ranks them.
Have you seen an electoral map of Colorado lately?
I was looking at the state senate districts. Only 7 of these encompass all of the rural areas in Colorado, or 20% (there are 35 senators in Colorado, each from a single member district). The other 28 districts are in the Pueblo-Colorado Springs-Denver-Boulder-Fort Collins corridor.
The ‘Rats therefore must believe that they can afford to flip off the rural areas.
To me they are the Walking Deadocrats. That OK?
Anyone using the word Democratic when referring to the democrat party is either a lackey for the democrat party or trying to sound sophisticated.
The Commies do their homework, then plot against American principles.
and I’d be happy and willing to oblige.
I weas at a meeting yesterday in which NYS Senator Nozzolio said 90% of thr State Police are AGAINST the SAFE Act. Nobody wants these laws except the crooks guarding the stash.
Remember, the highest ranking officer in any county is the Sheriff. No Fed or Fed officer out ranks them.

And that’s why Sheriff Joe in Maricopa Co. AZ is able to continue to do a superb job.
In Texas, I think Texas Rangers are able to take charge over a Sheriff in certain situations.
I’m tempted to go, could easily transfer to Texas or Arizona. Even looked at company opportunities in Arizona and at houses (online). But you know, I like it here, I’ve got friends here. My Dad, God rest his soul, didn’t raise a quitter. I think the sheriffs are right and deserve our support. I’m going to stay and fight too. I ain’t running from a fight. Before this is through, they’re going to be running from us.
Kick, I am SO stealing that (with credit, of course)!
“Democrat is the Kenyan word for Communist.”
I think I'll post it on mine, with the line from the article. Thanks for posting!
Only Friday did I find out that New York’s SAFE law has Ex Post Facto provisions in it.
My nephew owns two shotguns (1-12Ga & 1 20-Ga), two .22LR rimfire rifles, and a bolt action 30-06 that’s been in the family since WW1 that has to be breech loaded. That makes it 5 firearms in total. The New York law classifies ownership of 5 or more firearms as a class C felony. He’s currently deployed by the military and out of the country. Does that make his mother (my sister) a felon, because she is storing the weapons for him?
the simple solution is to arrest the party chairman.
Texas should build a fence on all its borders.
That's why I never refer to that party as the "Democratic Party". I really prefer calling it the "Democrat-Socialist Party".
