The murder case against half-Latino neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman was dealt a devastating blow Tuesday, when prosecutors acknowledged that their star witness, the 19-year old former girlfriend of the late Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, lied under oath.
The woman, who also told police she was on the phone with Martin shortly before his death, falsely testified that she was in the hospital on the day of Martin’s funeral — perhaps to garner sympathy.
“In fact, she lied,” defense attorney Don West said. Prosecutors also acknowledged her lie, but were reportedly vague about whether they would charge the woman with perjury.
The woman’s lie demonstrates another hole in the second-degree murder case against Zimmerman.
Zimmerman faces trial for second-degree murder after he shot and killed 17-year old Florida teenager Trayvon Martin in February 2012. Martin was suspended from school at the time of the shooting. Zimmerman claims he acted in self-defense while Martin pummeled him with punches, slammed his head against the pavement, and reached for Zimmerman’s gun. Photographs from the night of the shooting showing cuts and gashes on the back of Zimmerman’s head seem to corroborate Zimmerman’s version of events....

I noticed at the hearing that there was a noticeable change of demeanor with this judge after this all went down as if she now knows that the jig is up — though she still wouldn’t relent and make the prosecution tell the defense when the state became aware that their 18 y/o DeeDee was lying or let the defense have their DeeDee’s address.
However when she came back out from the break she gave the defense a whole bunch of records which I suspect included DeeDee’s address[es].
I hope they videotape her deposition. It would be a youtube sensation.
It's long been established that somebody who is 1/4 black is black. Except if he's conservative.
I do not expect to see Scott re-elected, should he decide to run.
They will find another way to slam Zimmerman behind bars for having a Jewish-sounding name and for killing someone who could look like 0’s sons.

Team Obama (which includes the media) carefully selected this case for Obama to weigh in on for his election-year boost, so come hell or high water, they absolutely have to win this to save face.
Zimmerman's grandmother was Afro-Peruvian (one-half black). The media wanted him to be a Southern white racist, so that's how he was initially portrayed, and that could be how the jurors think of him.

But to be honest, I don’t see any remarkable difference between Crist and Scott.

The media and others were trying to paint Zimmerman, not a s your ordinary southern white racist, but as a racist southern Jew....not just white, but an EVIL JEW !!
When that tanked, they were left to grab on to whatever they could.

In fact it is not necessarily a Jewish name (it just means "carpenter" in German and that occupation was hardly monopolized by Jews).
Ethel Merman's real name was Zimmerman and she was not Jewish. Arthur Zimmermann, of the infamous Zimmermann Telegram in 1917, does not appear to have been Jewish. I had a classman in high school named Zimmerman who was a Catholic.
