This is beyond refreshing!
Yes, he did. I think Cruz was saying that TODAY (for the filibuster) was the first time he had taken to the Senate floor (earlier)
Between Cruz schooling Holder this morning, and Paul doing this filibuster, this has been a banner day for America.
I’m hoping today is the turning point against the Obama regime that I have been praying for.
Cruz is great and has already become my favorite Senator post-DeMint. I loved that he mentioned his Senate floor desk used to be used by Barry Goldwater and earlier by Nixon! Making the libs reach for crucifixes and Holy Water until the recall they don’t believe in such!
Sadly he was born in Canada of two US citizen parents. It wouldn’t matter for a lib, and Cruz claims he’s and eligible NBC in spite of that, but the left will suddenly discover the NBC clause if he runs. I’d love him to be President but would be happy to settle decades as Senate Majority Leader. May he last longer than Sheets Byrd!
Sen. Ted Cruz [R-Texas] has been quite impressive today. He’s an effective, charismatic speaker. He’s certainly on the collective radar now. We’ll be seeing/hearing a lot from him in the coming years.
Cruz says it is up to the Senate and the House to stand up and tell the president he may not kill Americans on our soil without due process.
Now talks about Ayn Rand - his hero. standardless rules empower the political class. Was reminded of this when he was questioning Holder this am. If we must trust a govt official to do what is “appropriate” vs. relying on the Constitution, then our freedom is fragile.
In matters of style, swim with the current;
In matters of principle, stand like a rock.
#standwithrand
Unbelievable. Filibuster’s still going! If this goes deep into the night they aught to get some incense burning down on the floor, because Paul may fall into a drowsy trance and pour forth an illumination of constitutional rhymes.
Excellent speech Cruz is making.
Earlier today:
Under close questioning by Sen. Ted Cruz, Mr. Holder repeatedly said American citizens on U.S. soil were not appropriate targets for extrajudicial executions.
Mr. Cruz said that wasnt good enough.
You keep saying appropriate. My question isnt about propriety. My question is about whether something is constitutional or not, the Texas Republican said.

My God it’s wonderful to listen to an educated person who is also a politician! New found love for Senator Ted Cruz! Could listen to him and Senator Paul all night long!
AynRand and AtlasShrugged are trending on Twitter.
HAha, yes! Going from quoting Ayn Rand, to a lengthy verse from Shakespeare’s Henry V, to George C. Scott as Patton. Sen Cruz is a rock star.
Ditto!
Plain, honest, Constitution-driven speech!
My first serious exposure to Cruz, and I am impressed.
Still going. Maybe he’s going for a record?
Outstanding. Not familiar with Cruz’s background...Prosecutor?
This is just super exciting to me. Now I can say I’ve officially witnessed a filibuster in my lifetime. I should hope this inspires much needed pushback.
Emailed Cruz that I’d work for him here in the midwest if he ever took a swing at the White House. He or Paul either one. Educated, patriots, and constitutionally literate both of them. I’m done with RINOs.
Cruz is a keeper.
