In maryland they posted signs saying they doubled the fines for speeding in posted areas *near* schools.
But these speed free zones obviously didnt work so they posted signs that say ‘photo enforced’ and they post white speed camera (laser) vans on the main roads that go through the ‘no speed’ school areas to send fines to those speeding (I report them on my waze app.)
Clearly the signs alone didnt work.

100% in agreement with you here. Listen up all you business owners, school administrators, Church officers, etc. out there with "gun free zone" signs or something similar. Putting up a sign and hoping for the best is not a valid defensive strategy. If I am forced to use your establishment know that I am probably going to come in armed anyway if I believe I can do so without causing a disturbance. You'll never know. If you do know, it'll be because I stopped something bad from happening. If I have to come into your establishment unarmed, and something bad happens. I am going to hold you professionally and personally responsible (liable) for failure to enforce your zone and my safety. I (or my heirs) will sue you for every nickel you have. I will own and shut down your business. I will own every dime you have ever made and every dime you ever will make personally. You will end up living in a trailer by the interstate. Does that sound like something you want to risk?
2) Criminals and lunatics don't obey gun laws: The belief that someone who's planning to go on a killing spree is going to turn in a gun because it's made illegal is almost as nuts as going on the killing spree. Yet, the gun grabbers in the Democrat Party operate on the assumption that nut jobs like Adam Lanza or a gangbanger who sells crack for a living is going to get rid of a high-capacity magazine if Congress says he can't have it.
I agree with you on this, but I think you're missing the point. You're taking them ('rats) statements at face value. The "gun control debate" is not and never has been about public safety. Anyone can look up the statistics and realize that firearms bans increase violent crime. Anyone with a greater than room temperature IQ knows that in a confrontation with a criminal it is better to be armed with your fate in your hands than to not be armed and rely on the good intentions of said criminal not to hurt you or your loved ones.
What the so-called liberals (aka socialists and fascists) are really after is simply the control part of gun control. They can't get to where they want to go while we still have the means of successfully resisting them. So enacting so-called "gun control" is really just the first of many steps towards people control. They'll push as hard as they can, take whatever incremental gains they can get. We should not give them an inch. This isn't about saving a few lives, this is about saving America, freedom, and liberty. Many, many lives have been lost - willingly risked and sacrificed - to ensure our continued freedom. We cannot stand by and surrender those freedoms and dishonor their memory.
How about, “I only obey ONE gun law, the second amendment. period.”

It’s important to note that several phobias can be ascribed to gun controllers. For example, not just fear of guns, but the fear of the unexpected noise that guns make. Fear of loss of situational control. Fear of assassination (like Bloomberg).
Who knows what other brain defects propel them?
Until gun owners unite to tie up anti-gun legislation in the courts and stand up with civil disobedience, these attacks on the second amendment will continue. Frankly I feel the best way to transform a liberal is to introduce them to the shooting sports. I’ve two friends who converted their wives by including them in their trips to the range as well as instructing them on how to clean a gun. Cleaning the gun and learning how it functions takes away some of the mystic surrounding guns and attibutes their action to the person holding the gun, not the gun itself.
