The real war against women is the announced plan of the Obama administration, using outgoing Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta as the fall guy, to assign women for the first time in American history to fight our nations enemies in military ground combat. Thats real war, with real guns, real bullets and real deaths.
This war doesnt involve only women who have volunteered to serve in our military. Its a real war against all 18-year-old American girls, because for the first time in our nations history they will be required to sign up for the draft and be ready for a letter from Selective Service ordering them to report for military duty.
Thats because the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Rostker v. Goldberg in 1981 that the gender difference in the law requiring every male citizen of age 18 through 25 to register does not violate equal protection or due process. However, there was a caveat.
The court ruled: The purpose of registration was to prepare for a draft of combat troops. Since women are excluded from combat, Congress concluded that they would not be needed in the event of a draft, and therefore decided not to register them.
Congress must act immediately, before the May passage of the National Defense Authorization Act for 2014, in order to pre-empt what Obamas Department of Defense, without constitutional authority, is trying to do unilaterally. There is no demand from the American people to pursue this war on young women. The House has not had any hearings on women in combat since 1979, and the Senate has not had hearings since 1991.
Some U.S. military commanders disdain for our traditional civilian control of the military is insufferable. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey said Congress can legislate if they like but

She's a lawyer. She knows that Congress wrote an exception for women into the law and that it was upheld by SCOTUS. Therefore, she also knows that either Congress needs to repeal that exception or the SCOTUS must overturn their decision when a new legal challenge is raised.

Non sequitur.
I was not able to serve but I understand what you’re saying. But women served in auxiliary rolls since WWII and before. Why not draft them.
I was not able to serve but I understand what you’re saying. But women served in auxiliary rolls since WWII and before. Why not draft them.
The reason I asked about serving is that it was pretty clear that you haven’t seen how silly women appear in the military, they can’t lift heavy things like big cooking pots, or putting things into trucks, or put up large tents, or dig entrenchments or change the tires on their trucks, they can’t run, jump, carry, lift, they get injured easily, have health problems when living in dirt and mud, they are not up to doing support jobs.
We draft to make up for shortcomings in male enlistments, we don’t draft inadequate males, weak males who can’t make it in the military, the last thing we would want to do when we are desperate for warriors, is to draft women, that is what the draft is supposed to prevent.
Women used to be limited to 2% of the military, and were less in reality, and they served in jobs that average soldiers rarely saw them in, they served back at the administrative parts of the permanent military bases, the finance offices, legal services, nursing, they were not out in the field interfering with the men at work and with the hard charging work being done.
Much of any large military’s forces specialize in attacking the enemies rear, and they are the most elite soldiers, like paratroopers and Rangers, yet much of their mission description is to attack and destroy the support troops, the troops in the rear, the places that today are largely populated by girls.
As a side note, what do you think happens if a nation kills off it’s reproductive aged women? Do you think that losing a million young females is equal to losing a million males when it comes to sustaining or rebuilding a population?
“A while back a young woman asked me as i was walking out of a Wal*Mart if I would help her change her flat tire. I just laughed at her and kept walking.”
Why would you do that? You assume that all young women agree with feminist clap-trap?
nothing will provoke a wake up call quicker than telling our selfish arrogant shallow yutes that they HAVE to be soldiers....
I can see the riots now....
you got a dtr?...maybe a niece?....maybe a grand dtr?....is there ANY female you ever loved at all?.....
it must be true what they say about American men and their low testosterone and sperm counts......pitiful actions like yours certainly prove the point...
Yep, she was a leader against the equal rights effort 30 or so years ago. Don't know if you've noticed, Obama has very low regard for the law, unless it's his law.

Phyllis Schlafly does a "weekly" column for WND. I would think there's some type of contractual relationship. I could be wrong, but I would think there's a financial arrangement in there somewhere.

Non sequitur.
Do you also blame the post office for delivering mail from companies that you have contractual relationships with?
Sorry, I'm not a smart man. You can tell because I've wasted way too much time discussing your issues with WND instead of addressing problems caused by Obama and gang.
WWIW - Go Bucks!
okay so you hate and deride women, we get it....but you're making up nonsense...
you're average waitress in your average cafe has to walk more, carry more, stay on her feet more, think more, organize more than your average joe....nurses like myself are expected as part of our hiring to move at least 100#..we don't sit much, we're on our feet, or bending, or lifting, or pushing constantly....most men would be left in the dust...
I have to laugh at your tirade though, and then think of the husky manly men in the AF who along with my husband worked in an air conditioned LAB at neat little desks....for all your diatribe about how tough the military men are, you have to admit this is not 1862...nowadays, a majority of military jobs are informational, technical, electronic,or computerized where brute strength is not needed...
but all hail to the brute strength men....we know their needed, we know they offer more than women in that dept.....
just because women are not men, doesn't mean what they can do is less worthy or less valuable...
Yes, I definitely have issues with WND’s decision to perpetuate false information. They’ve done it repeatedly over the past five years. I’ve contacted them multiple times with corrections that are easy to verify, but they refuse to post corrections. Since they portray themselves as a conservative news organization, I hold them to a higher standard than the LSM.
Agreed. Obama has less than zero respect for the law.
Agreed. We’ve spent too much time on this tangent. :)
Go Bucks!
I have known and dated waitresses and nurses all of my life, and know of their female limitations, it is why the military has to have a special reduced physical standard for them.
I like how liberals start accusing any position that they disagree with of being hatred, one is against teacher’s unions because of hatred, one knows that women are a weakness in the military because of hatred, one doesn’t want to require the NFL to use affirmative action to hire female football players, because of hatred.
Women can’t meet the standards, yet there they are, the left has a political agenda, and you share that agenda with them.
We’ll agree to disagree.
Good point.
Women are not special, and deserve no special treatment.
