I hadn't been in Miami since 1969. The area has spread, the roads are wider, and the traffic is heavier. It reminds me a lot of Southern California minus the mountains plus the humidity. You can tell who lives in what neighborhood by the condition of the walls that separate the communities from the main arteries.
I went down I-95 from Georgia to get there, but I came back by way of Gainesville to hit the new Trader Joe's to pick up some stuff. That stretch of Florida's Turnpike north of Fort Pierce is a fine highway. I ran 80 mph all the way through.

In one of his letters, didn’t Paul once say that he had been stoned? That’s the mark of a blues man!

Paul got stoned (and beaten with sticks, shipwrecked, imprisoned, and chased out of town) more than once.
He was fond of Red Wine “For Thy Stomach’s Sake”.
Paul was an “Intellectual” and liked to debate liberals, epicureans, and Stoics.
I think Paul and i would have gotten along very well.

Good evening, Kathy!
*HUGS*
A good day, albeit a long one. I was out the door this morning at 6:30 and did not get home until 8:30 this evening.
We're at 32 F here - Winter Storm warning for tomorrow night and Wednesday. Driving was good this evening - I left the office after rush hour. This morning, I had to abandon my usual route but still made it to the office in less than an hour.

Just a couple corrections for you. The community is
Lompoc, not Lompok and the community associated
with Hearst Castle is San Simeon, not St. Simeon.
My great-great grandfather homesteaded a couple of
hundred oceanfront acres north of Vandenberg and
south of the Guadalupe Sand Dunes at a place called
Pt Sal. My family completed sale of the property to
the Nature Conservancy last year.

You should be really tired. Drive really carefully.
I didn’t get to work til 1pm....my Dad had a bad night and I was on the phone with his doc and trying to prop up my Mom. This morning was the first time I’ve seem defeat from her. We had a really rough weekend. He is losing weight every day, and getting around is going down quickly.
I’m off for home with a stop to get him high calorie treats and Ensure. We will see if that helps at all.
Back in a bit.
