Romney: ‘It kills me’ not to be in White House
yahoo ^ | march 3, 2013 | Dylan Stableford

Posted on 03/03/2013 10:10:39 AM PST by lowbridge

Mitt Romney says it "kills" him that he's not president. But he doesn't blame Superstorm Sandy, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie or anything else on his loss to President Barack Obama--except his campaign's failure to connect with minority voters.

“I lost my election because of my campaign," Romney said on "Fox News Sunday" in his first television interview since his November defeat, "not because of what anyone else did."

The former Massachusetts governor refused place blame on Christie, who some Republicans say elevated Obama in his embrace of the president in the wake of the storm.

Romney said his inability to win over black and Hispanic voters--and the damage done by those disastrous "47 percent" comments--ultimately derailed his White House bid.

Ann Romney, though, pointed the finger at the fourth estate. “It was not just the campaign’s fault," Ann Romney said. "I believe it was the media's fault as well, in that he was not being given a fair shake--that people weren’t allowed to really see him for who he was. ... I’m happy to blame the media.”

She added: “I totally believe at this moment, if Mitt were there in the office, that we would not be facing sequestration right now."

The left has a lock on the media. They can say stupid things all day every day (and they do), but their propaganda arm (the MSM) will either ignore it, cover for them, or spin the person who consistently says stupid things (ie Biden) to appear as some kind of charming eccentric. Hank Thompson and Guam tipping over? Nothing anyone on the right has ever said comes even close to that level of stupidity, but if someone on the right had said it, they'd be drummed out of town when the media got finished with them. With the right, if no one has said anything stupid, the media will put words in their mouths.

I will never never forget the media giving that evil ugly dyke Sandra Bernhard a pass for saying that if Sarah Palin ever showed her face in NYC, her (Bernhard's) black brothers should attack and gang-rape her. I've never heard anyone left or right say anything so utterly evil (I don't count the Black Panthers calling for their followers to kill white babies, even though they said it in front of MSM cameras and got a pass, because that's par for their course). What she said was evil in multiple ways, but she never got called out by one person on the left for saying it. No matter what anyone thinks of Palin, that should've been social death for Bernhard to say such an evil thing.

Republicans HAD power. They left us with higher Federal spending, higher taxes, higher debt, more regulation.

Let me know when we see the first “tiny” step in the right direction. I’ve been waiting for it for 50 years.

And he is probably the most decent man who’s run for pres in many, many years. 'bovine excrement' There is nothing decent about a man who promotes abortion.

He is not a decent man, he is a fraud.

And I believe we have you and people like you to thank for that.

Romney is pro-abortion, supports homosexual military, Boy Scouts, plus government healthcare and everything else he could do to be anti-republican.

You mean those evil people opposed to those things?

Well it’s damn lucky we got 0bama, isn’t it?

Cause 0bama, he’s the real thing. We don’t deserve this good fortune. Let’s count our lucky stars, shall we?

And if we’re really, really lucky, the next several presidents will be “the real thing”, too, and the ideological purists can sneer at the impure as all of us are producing our daily quotas in the rice fields.

Imagine my confusion...

As a boy I discovered Mickey Mouse, Santa and the Easter Bunny were all fictitious characters. They were not real. I grew up believing that there was a difference between fantasy and reality.

And then one day the characters from Idiocracy jumped off the screen and started posting on Free Republic. How else dors one explain conservatives defending the most liberal ‘Republican’ to ever disgrace the country?

I’m glad I took the night off from posting. The abject stupidity on this thread has only gotten worse.

Similarly to the banning thing, “look it up yourself” clearly means “please please please don’t look it up yourself.” It’s an admission of failure.

Well,well,well...so much to respond to and so little time.OK...I'll do a little bit of the work that *you* (and others perhaps) should be doing for yourself.CanadaCare...I'll cite two of the many links I have in my favorites folder.First, waiting times in British Columbia (one of Canada's most heavily populated provinces) for a coronary artery bypass graft (known in medicine as a "Cabbage). That's the operation that's done, almost always as an emergency procedure here in the US...emergency meaning waiting hours rather than days, weeks or months.I know this because I worked for 20 years in a world famous Boston hospital.Click on the link provided. Then click on the chest area of the "person" you'll see. Then there's a choice of procedures...choose "cardiac" and then choose"coronary artery bypass graft".You'll get a list of hospitals and doctors. On that list you'll see that one can wait MORE THAN 20 WEEKS there for a procedure that's almost always done in hours here...largely because being in need of a CABG means that you're almost certainly at huge risk of having a heart attack.

OK,now another link.A link to a 2012 story in a Winnipeg newspaper telling of official government figures that were released. The article states that in Manitoba only FIFTY NINE PERCENT of people needing a hip replacement (admittedly a non "life saving" procedure) have it done within SIX MONTHS of diagnosis.I,an ordinary middle class American guy,was in the recovery room of a major Boston hospital ELEVEN BUSINESS DAYS after getting the referral from my PCP to see an orthopedic surgeon.I have more links but I don't wanna do *all* your work for ya.And yes,I understand that your response will be "if you have to use "bold" and "caps" so often...you lose!" but that's your problem. And lastly...why all the talk on my part about OsamaObamaCare? Because it ALONE was reason enough to crawl over broken glass to vote for Romney, regardless of how imperfect he might have been overall. After all,he *did* promise to fight it from Day 1...I hear him say it in Manchester,NH the evening before the election. You remember that election...it was the one where you either stayed home or voted for some clown for the "Constitution Party" who,IIRC,got ZERO Electoral Votes.

I don’t need to imagine your confusion. You’ve laid it out beautifully. Thanks for the “stupid”, too, the ad hominem attack can always be counted on from the losing side. Do you remain confused as to who won and who lost the election, or are you reality based there, too?

--except his campaign's failure to connect with minority voters.

The MSM isn't going to give up on this meme EVER. It's of vital importance that the idea that failure for both parties to kowtow endlessly to minorities = loss of elections.

Hey, how about his failure to connect to the white majority in states like Ohio and Pennsylvania?

Uh, conservatives also deserve blame for this too. They didn’t get off their butts in January, February, and March of last year and they allowed the establishment to nominate Romney.

No, Romney deserves the blame. He ran a vicious campaign to smear Conservatism, and then expected Conservatives to be scared by his lefty RINO quislings into voting for him in the general election.

There is no reason for a Conservative to vote for a liberal. Romney is and remains a severe liberal. He personally hired Kevin Madden. FUMR.

Nothing AH about it. People that think you move right by supporting leftist candidates like Romney are stupid. Excruciatingly stupid. “It burns” stupid. I am not the slightest bit sorry if reality offends you. Stupid people should work on becoming smarter, not going to the wall in defense of their stupidity. Try it sometime.

The problem is that like the kid in the 6th Sense...

“I see stupid people. And they don’t even know they’re stupid.

Reality doesn’t offend me. I never said anything like what you are trying to portray. There’s nothing about “moving right” or moving left” that I have to say. The reality is that the purity of your position was so damned smart that it was absolutely instrumental in placing this vicious, America-hating Marxist into office and you continue to opine that that was a smart thing to do. Everyone else who varied from your line of thought, well, they’re just idiots. But it’s not AH to call them idiots because you and only you get to erect your very own pedestal upon which you can preach your ideological purity to the rest of us.

You continue to defend the efficacy of your actions so I can only assume you are proud of them and the results they achieved. So should I “try it (being as smart as you claim you are and everyone else isn’t) sometime”, I guess I should come to you and ask if I am being smart enough to meet your obviously high standards.

What will I ask, “Am I working hard enough to re-elect someone like 0bama?” Should I seek other ways to destroy America or am I doing enough already?” “Are there any planks left from the Communist manifesto that haven’t been put into place?”

You’ve worked on three characteristics of liberal arguments very nicely here; the AH attack, the topic change tactic, and the complete unwillingness to see the unintended consequences of your actions.

Keep at it, and congratulations of electing your candidate.

Nice work; but IMHO it is not relevant. We are NOT controlled by the past.

Wise men LEARN from it; so they do NOT have to repeat it!

Be careful not to equate confusion with being confounded...

The

DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS

OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS

SECTION 71

Revelation given to Joseph Smith the Prophet and Sidney Rigdon, at Hiram, Ohio, December 1, 1831. HC 1: 238–239. The Prophet had continued to translate the Bible with Sidney Rigdon as his scribe until this revelation was received, at which time it was temporarily laid aside so as to enable them to fulfill the instruction given herein. The brethren were to go forth to preach in order to allay the unfriendly feelings that had developed against the Church as a result of the publication of some newspaper articles by Ezra Booth, who had apostatized.

1–4, Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon are sent forth to proclaim the gospel; 5–11, Enemies of the saints shall be confounded.

1 Behold, thus saith the Lord unto you my servants Joseph Smith, Jun., and Sidney Rigdon, that the time has verily come that it is necessary and expedient in me that you should open your mouths in proclaiming my gospel, the things of the kingdom, expounding the mysteries thereof out of the scriptures, according to that portion of Spirit and power which shall be given unto you, even as I will.

2 Verily I say unto you, proclaim unto the world in the regions round about, and in the church also, for the space of a season, even until it shall be made known unto you.

3 Verily this is a mission for a season, which I give unto you.

4 Wherefore, labor ye in my vineyard. Call upon the inhabitants of the earth, and bear record, and prepare the way for the commandments and revelations which are to come.

5 Now, behold this is wisdom; whoso readeth, let him understand and receive also;

6 For unto him that receiveth it shall be given more abundantly, even power.

7 Wherefore, confound your enemies; call upon them to meet you both in public and in private; and inasmuch as ye are faithful their shame shall be made manifest.

8 Wherefore, let them bring forth their strong reasons against the Lord.

9 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you—there is no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper;

10 And if any man lift his voice against you he shall be confounded in mine own due time.

11 Wherefore, keep my commandments; they are true and faithful. Even so. Amen.
