Mitt Romney says it "kills" him that he's not president. But he doesn't blame Superstorm Sandy, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie or anything else on his loss to President Barack Obama--except his campaign's failure to connect with minority voters.
I lost my election because of my campaign," Romney said on "Fox News Sunday" in his first television interview since his November defeat, "not because of what anyone else did."
The former Massachusetts governor refused place blame on Christie, who some Republicans say elevated Obama in his embrace of the president in the wake of the storm.
Romney said his inability to win over black and Hispanic voters--and the damage done by those disastrous "47 percent" comments--ultimately derailed his White House bid.
Ann Romney, though, pointed the finger at the fourth estate. It was not just the campaigns fault," Ann Romney said. "I believe it was the media's fault as well, in that he was not being given a fair shake--that people werent allowed to really see him for who he was. ... Im happy to blame the media.
She added: I totally believe at this moment, if Mitt were there in the office, that we would not be facing sequestration right now."

“Whats stupid about 47% will never vote for him? “
I agree with you. If it wasn’t that quote it would be something else that the media would pound him mercilessly on. Dog on the roof, magic underwear, whatever.
All the media and the Left do is Demonize and Destroy. It is the only way they can win.
Is the 47% comment worse than “Vote for Revenge!” ?
Is it worse than the daily and myriad stupid things said by Barky and Biden?
Of course not, but that gets no attention, because B&B know that the LIV isn’t listening and only voting for his gov’t handout.
We saw what he could do to opponents when he trashed all the competition in the primaries. Someone reined him in hard after the 1st debate. That does not shock me.
What DOES shock me is that so many people either ignored that very important occurrence or made excuses for it. Time has brought me more understanding of the people who voted Romney out of fear. But today with 20 20 hindsight, there is no excuse for people to continue defending him.
Because that sends ANOTHER crystal Clear signal to the GOP that no matter what they do to us, we will STILL kiss their Arses and give them undying cover and support.
With all that, Romney didn't face any serious competition in 2008, yet he lost to Huckabee and McCain, neither of who had any money or organization, for 2012, Romney had all the same, plus the next in line thing going for him, again no serious challenger ran against him.
And Obama is SOOOO much better than Romney would have been.
Sounds like that’s what you’re saying.
Yes, there was that, too.
However, I'm still not sure that Romney believes any of that "religion" or anything else, really, other than what he perceives to be his own personal advancement.
He probably seems to some to be a nice man, though, other than all of that. ;-)
It’s not just the fault of the establishment GOP, Rove or Mitt the Twit, it is also the fault of anybody out there who sat out the election and did not vote for whatever stupid reason. He would not have been a clone of der Fuehrer; no Reagan, but not a steaming pile of obama.
Thanks to all of you “concience” and “never a mormon” non-voters out there; this is your fault too. Nitwits.
That's why it is time to take alternative routes. What would happen if the voters in Red States decide not to participate in the President election?
The Union is broken right now. The Takers outnumber the Producers. Hence Romney's 47% comment.
And, OH! What a brilliant move the "base" made to intentionally elect Obama.
Sickening........
LOL, yeah, it wasn’t the candidate’s fault, it was the voters.
I think I saw you on Kitchen Nightmares, where you were explaining to Chef Ramsey that it wasn’t your bad cooking destroying you, but your ignorant customers who couldn’t appreciate your superb cooking and refused to return.
Please explain how voting for what you believe in, the very things conservatisn stands for, is the wrong course of action. And spare me the ‘Obama is the anitchrist’ rationalizations. We know he is. Voting for lesser evils still gets you evil.
Voting for what you believe in is what the founders fought and died for...keep that in mind. Please tell us how their lives being in the balance doesn’t matter whereas your checkbook account does.
The Blacks didnt vote in '10 because Obama wasn't up for reelection so the demographics of the voters were similiar to Kentucky nationwide.
Oh, I have little doubt that the drubbing that Gingrich or Santorum would have gotten would be blamed entirely on Karl Rove.
The press would have looked like fools trying to defend all his failures. They would have had no defend. They only only thing they could have done was to avoid the subjects. This is why I believe that Romney serves the same elite as Obama.
That BS ‘rebuttal’ has already been tried. It failed as usual.
You don't own people, a good pro-life Christian person can run into a candidate that he just can't vote for and that happened for some with pro-abortion, pro-homosexual agenda, Bishop Romney, your belief that every individual must vote for your party, no matter how satanic your agenda becomes, is just more evidence of what went wrong with your party, when it turned against conservatism and Christ in 2012.
You said it much better than I.
What a bunch of losers. Now 100% of us lose and must suffer 100% of the time. Thanks, Base.
Four months after the election and Romney still doesn't get it. Moving to the left was never going to win an election.
And these days, it never will. Romney's candidacy split the base right down the middle. His refusal to see this is just one more example of a fatal flaw in the man's vision.
One of the Zotted tried saying repeatedly that we had to moderate our abortion stance to get more votes for the GOP.
In other words, that literally means “trade the lives of babies to win elections’.
If that ain’t satanic, and many people on the GOP Right agree with the sentiment, than NOTHING is satanic.
So this guy does not shock me at all.
