Monroe Police say as of Tuesday, both men are in the hospital in serious condition.
Police say Terry Harris, the man who attacked the victim with a hockey stick, is facing charges of second degree battery. He will be taken to jail once he's released from the hospital.
Terry is still recovering from a gunshot to the torso while the attack victim is recovering from serious head injuries.
Police also say the victim, whose name is not being released, will most likely not face charges because investigators determined he was acting in self-defense.

I have a NHL game-used goalie stick and you could kill someone with it. I’m serious.
Two minutes for Slashing.
Someone has to say it....
TIME TO BAN HOCKEY STICKS!!!
Exactly. If he did this on the ice, his marketability and trade value would go up as an enforcer.
This is in MON-roe, not mon-ROE.
That means the PO-leece were involved not the po-LEECE. We will need to see if they contact the IN-surance company and not the in-SURANCE campany.
[duck and hide!]
Watson, get down to the Philadelphia Flyers locker room and round-up the usual suspects.
Coulda been high sticking.
OGLETHORPE!
Ten minutes-Game Misconduct.
Best sports movie of all time.
LOL so true
is it a Monroe ?
“Jack Robinson..........”
Yes you could. I have to admit, however, when I played hockey in high school, none of us ever used the stick as a weapon.
For a hopeful minute I thought that someone had taken the stick to Michael Mann(Penn State global warming nut).
Penn State has finally figured out what hockey sticks
are REALLY about (went 3-2 vs. Big Ten opponents in their first Division I varsity season).
I yearn for the glory days in the 1980s and 1990s when parking at the top of a crease would earn a forward a slash to the back of the knee.
Ahem...a minor nit:
its INshornce or inSHORNCE
Thanks you.
yep. Time to Foil up the Knuckles.
