House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner ruled out tax increases as a way to address the nation's deficit after talks with President Barack Obama on budget cuts set to take effect later on Friday.
"The discussion about revenue, in my view is over. It's about taking on the spending problem," Boehner said

Word just in from CNN. Boehner has agreed to revenue increases. It will be taken from upper income white, Christian males making over 30,000 dollars a year.
The revenue has been targeted towards education. They are going to spend it on additional women’s and minority programs at state universities. The balance will go to Nasrallahs cancer treatment.
Does anyone have Boehner’s phone number...either in DC or in Ohio, his home town?
Is this actual fact, or are you just kidding around?
:: It will be taken from upper income white, Christian males making over 30,000 dollars a year. ::
That pretty much says it was satirical...
spot on!
Ever notice we don't get a "revenue refund"? Whenever my taxes go to the gubmint, they are revenue. Should I pay too much and declare it to be returned to me, it mysteriously becomes a "Tax" refund.........
Wordsmithing is a tool meant to do serious harm as it is practiced in Washington.
If the sequester holds, it might be the impetus to take control of the debt ceiling and budget talks which are coming up soon.
Maybe the house will start exercising it's authority over the nation's purse strings.
It's way past time to shorten the leash on this marxist.
To progressives, those people are the real enemies. They cannot be bought.
I’m a simple guy. If I spent 1000 on gasoline last year and spend 1001 on gasoline this year, then I’ve increased my spending and not cut it.
I wish Boehner would stop using the term ‘Revenues’. Stop adopting the BS language of the leftists. It is taxes, taxes, taxes. The word Revenues should never come out of Republican’s mouth.
The new rich are the people who earn enough personal/family income to pay for their own phone , utilities, house payment, education, daycare, food, transportation, insurance, and job training, regardless of their personal efforts at responsible financial conservancy.
From each according to their ability to each according to their need.
Such as:
1. charge nations like Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq for security services. Aircraft Carriers and armies ain't cheap to operate (and heck why should the US citizen be the only ones to get forcibly charged for services they don't want or need)
2. Tariffs for imports and tax incentives for domestic production ( now thats a novel concept)
My memory says that it was the republicans who actually began over-using “revenue” way back when they talked about being willing to “enhance revenue” but not “increase taxes.”
It was a discussion about closing loopholes, ending some deductions, etc.
I think it was all part of leading up to the fiscal cliff deal last year.
good, they are starting to push back
I’m so sick of the language here. This is why we lose.
“Raising revenues” is raising taxes and higher taxes does not necessarily mean higher revenues! But by calling it “Raising revenues” it instantly becomes a foregone conclusion that raising taxes always increases revenue.
If you tax too much you will get less revenue but that is being lost here in the language.
Respond by saying no more talk about taking more money from the American people...or something like that. Good grief.
If you don't think we get our money's worth from our overseas commitments - that is one argument to make - that we should charge people.... well Germany and Japan and South Korea have a big bill to pay!!!
Having our Armed Forces set up to be a means of making money? Gee, what bad could happen from that? It worked so well when we set up our Police to make money rather than enforce the law and protect public safety!/s
As far as starting a tariff war with the rest of the world - making foreign products more expensive in the USA and our products more expensive in the rest of the world isn't going to replace a sensible trade policy based upon mutual advantage and weaning ourselves away from toxic products made by slave labor in Communist gulag nations (I am looking at YOU China!).
My bet is Boehner and the other RINOs will cave, but we can hope he has found some backbone. I think it is high time the GOP choose another Speaker of the House...someone with an iron backbone and a brass pair.
I am kidding. But would you be surprised?
Hauser’s Law proves that no matter what the income tax rates are the Federal Government has averaged 18%. Stick to that!
