This past Tuesday, a key Obama campaign operative launched Battleground Texas, a group that seeks to transform the Battleground Texas traditionally Republican Lone Star State into a Democratic stronghold, and thereby make it impossible for Republicans to ever again win a presidential election.

Launched on February 26, 2013, Battleground Texas (BT) seeks to transform the traditionally Republican Lone Star State into a Democratic stronghold.[1] At its inception, BT pledged that over the next several years it would “focus on expanding the electorate by registering more voters—and, as importantly, mobilizing those Texans who are already registered but who have not been engaged in the democratic process.”

Democrats must be stopped in Texas or Texas will be a solid Democratic state by 2024.

I don’t think all those people moving from California to Houston, Dallas and Austin and buying $750,000 condos are on government assistance.

But, they are voting Democrat.

Don’t forget that public school kids in Texas can be punished for refusing to recite the Mexican pledge of allegiance.

needing conservatives is a big key, and the idea of shared votes...ugh. The biggest cities, Dallas, Houston, San Antoni, Ft. Worth and Austin all are run by democrats. Anyone thinking the the state is not in need of a conservative change is asleep. Our property taxes are thu the roof, money that is paid in gas taxes do not go for roads, money paid for sporting taxes - ammo, fishing liscense etc etc. has been diverted to the general funds...that is not conservative.

What you don’t understand is dividing Texas without dividing California ensures that Republicans lose 14 seats, (a swing of 28, or almost 5 percent of the electoral college).

Sure, if California were divided, this might be in the cards, but until then - it would be electoral suicide for the Republican party.

During the last two high school graduations I went to (probably 2008 & 2011) that had either an ‘hispanic’ valedictorian or salutorian much of that person’s speech was in Spanish. Of course, they also recieved LULAC scholarships. I have a VERY strong feeling LULAC encouraged them to give their speech in Spanish.

On the first one, much of the crowd looked uncomfortable and a few even appeared shocked, as was I. The speaker said it was so his parents could understand his words - and I was thinking we just paid taxes for 13 years for this kid to get an education and his parents could’t respect us enough learn enough English in that time to understand what he had to say?

Some have been Zotted. Others flip out and exit the arena.

Some rare ones reform themselves and become productive members of society.

Personally I got no control over Zotting.
I'd rather see them reformed and becoming an asset.

Some, though, are hard-case blogpimps.

You just have to beat on them until they break sometimes.

And that is sad.

I don’t think this is speculation. Of the five largest states in the nation, the only one that has been consistently conservative has been Texas. Yet, we have both the RINO elite/establishment republicans and the democrats working towards bringing in a more consistently liberal constituency when they clamor for more illegals to be made legal.

The republicans tell you they are doing this because the illegals are going to be here anyway, so they have show them they are on their side or they will end up a permanent minority party. The truth of the matter is that illegals will never be conservative. The RINO goal is the same as the democrats, get rid of the conservatives for good. They hope that if some of these new immigrants join the republican party, they can help put an end to the conservative domination of the party and its primaries.

They are not really trying to turn every state blue. I live in FL another one of the top five states in population. Before the election, I was with relatives in Alabama. The difference was night and day. No election advertisements, barely any election coverage. You would not even know there was an election going on. The dems don’t care about Alabama. They were not even contending for it. It is too small and too conservative a state. Yet they will fight tooth and nail for prizes like TX and FL.

If we ignore what they are doing, we will once again be caught flat footed when their schemes come to fruition. I am not demoralized. I already know who wins in the end. But, I won’t be silent about what is happening. I’ll shine a light on their plans. I’ll tell anyone who will listen. I’ll pray that their schemes are thwarted. At least if or when it happens, they won’t be able to say they were taken by surprise.

Completely agree with you. The ONLY reason for these stupidly speculative articles IS to demoralize. The fact is that TX is as red as its ever been. Don’t believe me, go back and look at how much better democrats used to perform here. Heck, Bill Clinton totally outperformed Obama. Ever hear of Ann Richards??

The democrats get most of their victories through voter fraud in the big cities. They won’t be able to steal states anymore if electoral collge votes are reallocated.

California would never reallocate. Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Florida, and Ohio could however. Instead of a republican candidate getting no elecoral votes in these states, they would get some, even many looking at the congressional breakdown.

Out of state funds should not be permitted in state and city races. The lesbian mayor of Houston received substantial financial contributions from out of state members of the lavender mafia who will never have to live under any of her policies.

The Texas GOP can’t even find a Democrat primary challenger for Queen Sheila Jackson Lee’s seat in the Houston Heights (an older neighborhood with costly properties favored by upper middle class and upper class yuppies). They may be liberal Democrats but it’s not like Sheila gets challenged to debates every election.

“California would never reallocate.”

Then neither should Texas. The Dims aren’t stupid. Why are we?
