I have my issues with him just like you do, but cmon. Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush are conservative enough to speak at CPAC but not Christie? Hes the current vice chair of the RGA and will be chairman next year for the midterms. Hes headed for a landslide reelection victory in a deep blue state, where his approval rating is currently the highest for a New Jersey governor in the 17 years since Quinnipiac started tracking that. Hes one of the few members of the party with a national profile whos reasonably well liked by voters across the board. Leverage his popularity, if only for a day.
I understand wanting to punish him for slobbering all over Obama after Sandy, but how do you find a spot for Chris Hayes and not for this guy? For cripes sake, Joe Scarboroughs spoken at CPAC. David Frum could probably get on a panel if he really tried. Their definition of conservative isnt strict.
At least eight potential presidential contenders will be speaking at CPAC: Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, and Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania.

Looks like the entire rant can properly be restated as; “Because they had nlapsed standards before it is unfair for them to start having them again now.”
That should be on all the stationery.
Deck chairs.
Titanic.
Ballast.
Maybe he’s over the weight limit for the speaker’s platform.
Christie is anti-gun. We will see just HOW anti-gun he IS when a pile of 20 idiotic bills are dumped on his desk all coming from Democrats and all anti-Second Amendment. He appointed TWO successive anti-Second Amendment Attorney Generals in New Jersey. His political mentor is anti-gun Tom Kean Senior - the guy who though Chrissie Whitman was TOO conservative AND believes in "reparations" for slavery.
Christie is a pro-Muslim harlot. He appointed the First Muslim to a state Superior Court Judgeship - a man whose experience was limited to an "immigration" attorney, never served on the bench and was incensed when the Ft. Dix bombers were referred to as Muslims. He has attended various Islamic religious events. He said the Ground Zero Mosque was a "local affair". Both Mark Levin and Steve Marlsburg - two leading local brilliant Conservatives - have taken him to task for his Islamophilia.
Christie doesn't have much use for the First Amendment either. When a state employee burned a Koran in protest at the Ground Zero Mosque - ON HIS OWN TIME - Christie approved of his firing as it was a "hateful act". A court didn't see things quite that way as it recognized the First Amendment.
Christie is a bully. He periodically throws rude tantrums when accosted and even threatens people - as he did at Seaside Heights New Jersey on the Boardwalk.
On the pragmatic side, Christie has done NOTHING - NADA to improve the state's business picture. It is STILL Second from the Bottom. No "Texas Miracles" here. While reining in some government employee unions, he still panders to law enforcement by allowing law enforcement personnel who retire after 20 years in the system to work full time in another civil service position at lucrative pay.
He has done LITTLE to rein in the bloated Teacher's unions aside from browbeating teachers who question him about educational arrangements for his kids.
Despite his promises to examine state mandates - which are the MAIN drivers of increased local government costs, he has done nothing in that area also.
We ALL know of his farcical self-promoting speech at the Republican Convention, his calling Newt Gingrich a "crook" on the radio during the primaries and his other shenanigans.
Loud-mouth, bully, self-promoting narcissistic opportunist, that is all classic Chris Christie.
Yet he maintains a LARGE margin of Popularity in the Garbage Garden State. Maybe that's because his immediate predecessors were so much WORSE.
But what the heck, that's New Jersey - the National Joke.
I don’t care how popular Christie is in New Jersey. Conservative? Please...
If he’s on the Republican ticket in 2016, I’m withholding my vote. I’ve never done that before, but after 2008 and 2012, I’ve “had enough”...
the following governors....after whoring out for either state exchanges or “medicaid-crack” should also be excluded:
1. NM Marteeeeeeenezzzzzz
2. NV Sandoval
3. FL Slick Rick
4. OH Bob “barker” Kaisch
5. AZ Brewski Brewer
6. MI sly-dog Snyder
7. VA Old McDonnell E-I, E-I, don’t think so.
McDonnell deserves special consideration for demoralizing and sinking the GOP 2014 for going all out lefty with new taxes and spending. Mark Levin has declared an all-out Jihad on him and all of the Republican state legislators who voted for this.
Well, it’s not like our votes will matter anyway. The fix is in; we will have whatever Marxist Soros says he wants in the WH. Non-rigged federal elections are so last century.
LOL, what a disgraceful laughingstock CPAC has become. Maybe they should invite Hillary Clinton to speak.
No question about it. Pork Porkie is just an obese version of Charlie Crist.
Christie is the cat turd in the litter box that is too big to completely cover. He is unsightly, smelly and not welcome, even to the other cats who are used to a smelly litter box.
He’ll flip...he’s being groomed now.A fly on the wall knows all the promises that are being made to him by the Rats.
I think that was the point - if Romney and Jeb were OK, what’s the problem with Christie?
Others have answered that well enough. Christie bailed out Obama when he was in trouble. If he wants to run for president, it had better be as ‘Rat.
ROTFL!
Christy was actually at whatever event Mrs. Obigmouthmama was presiding over in D.C. on Oscar night?
Suppose as a governor, we could expect him to attend whatever this function was, but he satteth at the right hand of Mrs. Co-Dictator, soaking uppeth indoctrination - - ???
