I’ve got “They Were Expendable” recorded forever.
Wise FReeper!
Watching it every now and then keeps you sane, right?
For REAL torture, being a baby boomer and Nam era young adult, I’ll watch the Christmas Specials Bob Hope did for troops in Southesast Asia where they closed every show with “Silent Night”, all the kids knew the words and no one screamed separation of church and state.
Have yet to make it through with a dry eye....
Shelley owebama isn’t smart enough to have been embarrassed at the spectacle she is.
Just dont like boot lickers...
I think he went down to the crossroads and made himself a deal...
It’s all about fags..........
Hollywood and It’s inhabitants live in a moral and billion dollar cesspool. That so many people give homage and money to support such a place and It’s enablers is a reflection of the character of many people in the USA.It would be interesting to know how much welfare money is being spent on the keeping this cesspool open.
The passion and narnia. my last two movie trips.

I’m a movie goer and go almost weekly. I know many movie lovers and we are all certainly intelligent enough to separate the wheat from the chaff.
It’s 2 hours a week of complete relaxation and entertainment with no interruptions.

For decades I believed that “Expendable” was actually filmed in the Philippines at war’s end. I looked it up on imdb.com and read that it was actually filmed in the Florida Keys. The lack of mountains should’ve tipped me off. In the early 60s, I spent 18 months stationed in the Philippines.
As boy many years ago I remember playing farmer boy on my uncle’s farm. There were in those days a lot of lofting and pitching and separating chaff from the grain or straw. I especially did not like chaff then and feel the same way today. Paying for chaff isn’t what I want to do.
I try to figure out where things are filmed, too, but know that the earlier the film is, the less chance it was made on location...it was just too hard in those days.
“Expendable” is one of my favorite Duke movies because he really did ACT in it...his face when he hears that Donna Reed is on Corregidor is heart-wrenching...
Other Duke faves are Red River, Stage Coach, Horse Soldiers, Quiet Man and Searchers....thank goodness for the oldies!
Really? I wasn't aware of that.
Did you post on them ?
Were you the only one in the theater ?
Ya think?
“Did you post on them ?”
Nope.
And, there were three threads BEFORE this one.
IMDB.COM will usually give the filming locations, along with everything else you want to know about, including the age and marital status of the best boy and key grip.
Wow, thanx, good to know.....I think!
Apparently, her cameo appearance was pointless and bizarre.
