Full Title: As Country Club Republicans Link Up With The Democratic Ruling Class, Millions Of Voters Are Orphaned
On January 1, 2013 one third of Republican congressmen, following their leaders, joined with nearly all Democrats to legislate higher taxes and more subsidies for Democratic constituencies. Two thirds voted no, following the people who had elected them. For generations, the Republican Party had presented itself as the political vehicle for Americans whose opposition to ever-bigger government financed by ever-higher taxes makes them a country class. Yet modern Republican leaders, with the exception of the Reagan Administration, have been partners in the expansion of government, indeed in the growth of a government-based ruling class.

We need a new party. At this point, we have nothing to lose.
We used to have a two party system. One of the parties has acquired the other in a friendly takeover and has reorganized it as a wholly-owned subsidiarity to become a Division eventually, sort of like GM and Oldsmobile. The shareholders did not know what was happening and as they become aware it is too late to affect the outcome. It is a done deal. If the disaffected shareholders wish to regain some influence in the market they must start a new party.
Considering Forbes has been going down the road to RINOville, this was a pleasant surprise.
I’m not the least bit surprised.
The following article explains a lot.

You need to read Codevilla’s stuff in the Claremont Review of Books. He’s a fantastic conservative writer.
The article is dead on...
The Rockefeller Republicans have always been on the same side as the Communists. It’s been that way for at least 120 years.
Conservatives long-suffering struggling on behalf of the poor, down-trodden and weary in pursuit of the American Dream; is sadly over.
The inmates run the assylum. Let them eat cake.
Agreed. At the Washington level we (conservative nationalists) have no representation. We all work for King George, and a crazy King George at that.
Levin’s first hour is a classic.
THAT was an eye-opener. Thanks.
Exactly! The GOP is dead.
Oh come on! We just need to be satisfied voting the Democrat-Lite ticket and hold to the lesser-of-two-evils philosophy.
We we had been smart in 2000 we would have nominated Steve Forbes instead of George Bush. I am hoping we will nominate Rand Paul (or some other conservative) instead of Jeb Bush in 2016. But the ruling class is very hard to beat so we will probably get another Bush.
frankly I know a whole lot more Rats who are country club members. Do they really think upon ushering in socialism, they are going to get to keep all that stuff? Most of them are Caucasion bleeding hearts who think that the masses will all get elevated to their heady standard of living rather than they will get dragged down to living in a row house that has a rusty faucet and a broken furnace. Have they never seen Dr Zhivago? So idiotically stupid and dim witted.
We have one party with two branches.
Best solution would be to limit political contributions to individuals only.
No contributions to candidates from political parties, corporations, labor unions, PAC’s, charities, special interest groups, etc.
Only real live individual citizens allowed to contribute a limited amount - say about $100 per candidate per election.
Good article.
Excellent article.
Once bitten, twice shy applies for Reagan supply side believers. There’s a serious lose of trust among citizenry. Because even though Reagan talked the talk, he was unable to walk the walk because the direction of our society did not change. Simply human nature, imho. Folks will always vote for those who promise them the most.
