The New York Times has a must-read up on how the GOP is losing the tech war — and losing the youth vote.
But tucked away in the piece, I found this:
[W]e can’t be afraid to call out Rush Limbaugh,” said Goodwin’s fiancée, S. E. Cupp, a New York Daily News columnist and a co-host of”The Cycle”on MSNBC. “If we can get three Republicans on three different networks saying, ‘What Rush Limbaugh said is crazy and stupid and dangerous,’ maybe that’ll give other Republicans cover” to denounce the talk-show host as well.

I think Rush is too much of a nice guy for these types, he’ll brush it off and move on. I’d like to see them try to go after Michael Savage, but they won’t because they know they’d be walking funny once he got done with them.

I agree with general notion that no one is above criticism. If Limbaugh says something I disagree with, he’s fair game just like anyone else. I’m just not sure what he’s said recently that would warrant Cupp’s proclamation? The Sandra Fluke thing blew up in his face last year, but that was short-lived and ultimately it was much ado about nothing.
This sounds an awful lot like a “I’m the *good* conservative who should keep getting work on MSM tv stations” bit of PR.
Beyond that...and I’m not saying this to be mean, but honestly, I don’t think Cupp is all that sharp. I don’t think she’s dumb, but I do think she has pretensions of being thought of as a super-brainiac type that aren’t in keeping with the quality of her contributions. Her delivery sometimes is not unlike Janeane Garofolo in that sense - trying just too hard to convince us all that she’s the smartest person in the room.

Look, I like S.E. and Rush. There’s no doubt Limbaugh has done some great things for the conservative cause. But I get what S.E. is saying, as well.
She couldn't cite a single thing (except maybe some reference to that pathetic 30-year old "Georgetown law student" who thinks taxpayers should fund her daily birth control supplies). Cupp doesn't listen to Rush. She's just another sellout scumbag who plays the token "conservative" for a paycheck from MSNBC.
She is an atheist but, I’d still hit her pitiful azz.

I think I’m about done with this site after 7 years. Like any good bar that goes sour, it’s not the ownership that’s to blame, it’s the crowd of regulars who’ve moved in. Plenty of good ones here, but too many who’d prefer to call other FReepers names. Don’t care if you’re polite or not, you’re an asshat. I suggest you come up for air once in awhile for your health.

Oh, take a pill and chill. You’re okay, and normally a good contributor. Everybody here gets beat up once in awhile. You just have to be careful about mischaracterizing Reagan, Rush, and a few others. But especially Reagan and Rush. It’s not that they’re completely above criticism - - you just have to be dead sure about what you post and make sure it’s not something a scumbag Democrat would say or agree with.

Rush Limbaugh is hardly the problem with GOP electoral politics. And if you;’re looking for anyone who convinces people to vote GOP, I’m not sure who the Cupp types want us to emulate other than Rush — in fact, I’d argue there is no one in my lifetime who has moved votes rightward more than Rush Limbaugh.
You’re never going to find someone you agree with 100% of the time. Particularly if you talk 3 hours a day to a national audience, you’re going to say things to criticize. But day in, day out, across a wide variety of issues, Rush is the most reliable voice I’ve ever heard, in articulating the conservative view.
If conservatism means small government, low taxes, individual liberty, then Rush has earned his respect, objectively, and anyone else who wants to tweak his approach has about 25 years of hard work before they earn the right to tell him how to do it.
I’m a fan, as you can see, and don’t mind saying so. These other people come and go.
Yeah, why would anyone vote for a dem wannabee Pub when they can vote for a real dem?

Face- not too horrible but still kinda mediocre.
Body- not too outstanding but still nice to look at.
Bottom line- 6.5 out of 10
