Honolulu (AP) - A bill that would have legalized marijuana in Hawaii has died in the state House.
House judiciary committee Chairman Karl Rhoads said Tuesday that he decided to kill the bill after learning from House leadership that the initiative does not have enough votes to pass the House.
Key lawmakers in the Democratic-controlled House supported the measure, including the speaker and the majority leader.

Besides inhaling marijuana, the plant has many uses as “hemp” and could be quite useful in this country; but let’s keep it schedule “1” with heroin and other REAL narcotics.
Nominally tax it for recreational use, use it heavily for industrial (non-THC) applications. Its fibers can breed all sorts of new building materials (no, not whole structures, talking “particle board” type applications).

Easy there, it’s hard to undo 70 years of propaganda at one fell swoop. Never mind that marijuana used to be prescribed by doctors for numerous ailments and didn’t cause anal leakage, heart palpitations, hives, dizziness and blurred vision. Besides you can’t be a real conservative if you don’t approve of no-knock raids, dog shootings and confiscation of property. We support the Constitution unless you’re a damned Hippie-Dope-Head and then it doesn’t apply to you.

Cops who smell marijuana coming from your home can break down your door and arrest you, just as long as they knock first and claim to have heard you destroying evidence. They don’t need a warrant or probable cause, either. Today in America, police can now randomly patrol neighborhoods and apartment complexes sniffing around for pot. When they smell it, they can knock on your door and then break it down, claiming they heard noises from within. You don’t have to be a pot smoker to appreciate where this is going. The coming police state was furnished by the drug war. Where these potheads really worth sacrificing The Republic for?
