Hospices—health care facilities for the terminally ill—along with other Medicare providers are facing Medicare pay cuts...If this weren't so infuriating, it would be laughable - I lived through the big fight to adopt Medicare - all you heard from the libs was that the new program was about assisting the old, who became sick and needed lots of expensive care toward the end of life - the program was to ease their suffering, make sure they had all the care they needed, and help them with the economic burden of that care - now suddenly, the elderly are to blame for all our healthcare problems - they suck up too much care and spend too much money - we're going to cut all their programs to save the rest of the system (after they paid into Medicare for as much as half a century) - liberals really are cretins......

I actually believe this has already started. My dad may have lung cancer. He's 84 and is very active. The docs have said they will not do any surgery at his age. He also has a knee problem--toally arthritic in his left knee. He had a right knee replacement more than 10 years ago. The docs say he's not a "good" candidate for a left knee replacement--so he's in pain most of the time.
