There are no Republicans on Capitol Hill.
Just Democrats with bad Mardi Gras masks.

Another one for the “foregone conclusions” file.

Hagel would have collaborated with the Nazis in Paris during WWII.
To: xzins
did anyone really think he wouldn’t be confirmed?
He’ll probably be confirmed by more than 90 Senators.

This just gets it out of committee. Does not mean he will be confirmed.
To: xzins
The Republicans never had the votes to stop Hagel in committee. Hopefully on the floor, it’s another story.

This just gets it out of committee. Does not mean he will be confirmed. He has the votes for confirmation. Remember, Democrats hold the Senate and none of them will vote against him. Republicans aren't likely to filibuster a President's cabinet choice either. Elections have consequences. We can't defeat any of Obama's nominees because we failed to win back the Senate in 2010/2012.

I bet MeCain compromises once again !!
Speaking now.
To: Colonel_Flagg
It’s a matter of a filibuster, and that’s a matter of only 5 republicans joining with the democrats to support Hagel.
Pick 5 rinos who aren’t up for reelection for 4 years + and you’ve got a confirmation.
McCain sounds like he’ll be one of them already.

All Obama nominees are severely flawed. ESPECIALLY Hagel.

Thanks very much, dearest xzins!
Watching now.
McCain does not want his nomination to move forward and is stating his many reasons!

So Graham and Inhofe talked tough, got their 5 minutes, and then went with the rest of the eunuchs.
Clearly they are counting on the short memories of Americans, and I like their chances.

Hagel would have collaborated with the Nazis in Paris during WWII.
How sure are you that he didn't?
To: Longbow1969
Inhofe doesn’t want Hagel at all and Graham is demanding answers on Benghazi.
Inhofe and Graham have stated that they will block confirmation of Hagel. There are many others. A fillibuster is a real possibility.
