The LAPD chief, is saying he'll replace the truck, but his department wont' be paying the bill for it. "donors" will.

from the article:

Cmdr. Andrew Smith said he and Beck met separately with the two women Saturday. The truck will be purchased using money from donors, Smith said.

What a crock of that which comes out of the back end of bull.

El Gato: "This one was a shorter skinny (by about 100 lbs) white guy mistaken for the 6 foot 270 pound black guy."

It would be hilarious if it wasn't so incredibly PATHETIC!

I favor gun confiscation...from the LAPD! If they must have a gun, force ‘em to carry their one bullet in their breast pocket à la Barney Fife.

I am saying these cops are unprofessional jack asses and should be relieved, and I am saying the Sheriff should be relieved as well.

Just unprofessional jackasses?

They have to be held accountable. They should get jail time if a cogent case of events and forethought can be proven.

For what crime?

That said, you seem to have a hard on for the cops over Dornan, who is an avowed active murderer and has pledged to continue to murder.

So, you never answered my question. Is attempted murder a crime where you live? If so, what are the penalties?

we are always told cops get far more training than ccw holders. training that makes them steady under pressure. right.

It's true!
Here is a member of the LAPD being trained by the ATF:

I suspect the department will not be paying for the truck. They’ll be paying for the new Mercedes...

You have these guys already hung and buried.

And you've already found them not guilty and want to see them back on duty ASAP so they can get back on the job.

The killers name is Dorner.

Is attempted murder a crime in your state?

In the mid 90’s in suburban Washington DC, there was a guy who would go to donut shops and walk up to cops and shoot them in the face.

The police were not amused. The Prince Georges Co. police thought they had their man. They busted down the door an beat the guy into a coma that lasted about 3 weeks.

Of course, it was the wrong guy who had no criminal record.

Ooops.

They eventually found the right guy (at least that is what we have been told.) and they gunned him down in a hail of gunfire at the Beltway Plaza mall in Greenbelt Maryland.

In your opinion, for what purpose did the seven cops fire into the newspaper delivery truck?

Of course it is.

Have you established that the chicken shit dumbass cops targeted these women with malice of forethought?

Even as private citizens the worst they would get is manslaughter, which is very different from premeditated murder.

That is all I am saying.
It is Apples and Oranges and hear say at this point.

Evidence must be presented in a court of law.
Dorner by his own admission has declared intent of murder in his Manifesto and folks are shying away from that.

They are giving him the benefit of the doubt. (maybe it was an internet hoax posting)

The same folks are wanting to string up the cops with no trial.

Personally I think there is a lot of bad on both sides, but that is a personal gut feeling.

That is an opinion, not a trial by constitutional law.

What strikes me hardest in this is that there is only one thing in this they got right. It was a truck.

Think about this for a moment. Every cop has / is trained to have a mental checklist of things to run down for making a positive ID before using deadly force.

Not one, but ALL of them got one single detail correct. They shot a truck.

Wrong...
Color
Make
Model

Wrong...
Gender
Race
Size
Occupant (and TWO occupants when the suspect was singular thus placing the second innocent in danger..Which they didn’t even apparently realize or care was there.

In a neighborhood
Hitting everything in sight.

If the people of LA regardless of color do not riot, they should. I’ll leave it at that.

“Is there any doubt that these keystone kops would obey any gov’t edict to fire upon citizens? The willingness to wantonly use deadly force without any regard for due process or inconcent bystanders tells you everything you need to know about the existence of govt stooges’ willingness to use violence against the populace.”

It is called protecting your own.

When a citizen is under threat from an armed criminal, they call out the SWAT TEAM, bring in the tanks and gas grenades and make sure no “civil servant” gets injured and if the citizen dies, it is “Oh well, stuff happens”

When a member of their own is under threat, it is shoot first, and ask questions later. And if a few civilians become “collateral damage” well at least no cops got injured.

They do enough rioting in LA already.

Perhaps they should express their concerns to the local yokel politicians.

Remind them that they hired em and they can fire em.

Why devolve into vigilantism?

Soon, Villagorosa will hail this as a model of police safety and restraint during the use of deadly force.

Because no one actually died with 40+ shots fired.

Welcome to 1984 Winston.

There was a crazy shooting in Cleveland in December that involved something like a third of their force on duty, I think 2 innocents were dead, 140 shots fired in a half a minute...

there were no suspects around
