Is the district attorney going to make that argument in front of a jury? “Oh by the way no matter what you award the state can’t afford it.” I don’t see that going over so well.

Maybe the State is broke. Maybe the City and County of Los Angeles is broke, but ya know what? The police officer's pension funds aren't.

Might be a good precedent for a cop or two to lose their personal pensions by award to someone so grossly wronged by them.

Looks to me like the LAPD needs to do a bit of training at Frontsight.... or maybe just a bit of training.

Or Thunder Ranch, or just on the range. Crap, the guys I shoot with are much better shots than most cops...especially the jerk US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management cops. It is unbelievable the number of federal agencies that have armed divisions. The Forest Service?? The BLM??? What garbage!!

Zatso? I was nearly selected for a jury where the guy was charged with murder for for wrecking his car and killing his girlfriend, a passenger.

Gross stupidity does translate to murder.

He was convicted.

"As the vehicle approached the house, officers opened fire, unloading a barrage of bullets into the back of the truck. "

The truck was being driven backwards?

NVDave~:
...”And since they were ready to kill innocent people, depriving them of their civil liberties without cause, I think that the cops should be tossed into a super-max prison without a trial (speedy or otherwise), the population clearly told that their new residents were LAPD, and then we should allow the LAPD officers to find out what happens when they’re just another gang on the street.”

NO ! The L.A. PD IS the NEW GANG on the street !!

Yes , they should at least go through ‘Grand Jury ‘
and be charged with Attempted Murder .
(Herd Mentality) is still , no excuse for such behavior.
“To Serve and Protect” should be changed to “ To Cover and Conceal”
and be treated just like any other street gang .

[[ These “shoot first and the identify” types are going to cost the LAPD a ton of money from lawsuits from this blatant stupidity. ]]

It’s not going to cost “the LAPD” a single cent. Not one.

It probably WILL end up costing the _taxpayers_ of L.A. a “ton of money”.

Them’s the breaks...

In the end, yes. The taxpayers, shrinking pool that they are, get screwed.

No doubt at all that they will fire on citizens in CWII or any other event of civilian unrest.

They are whores for their benefits, swagger and pensions. Faced with a choice of honor or money and self comfort... guess what? They will go with money and self comfort.

Moral courage. The attribute most desirable and most absent in most men.

And that is why some of them will be fired. Cops who work night who have never heard the slow plop of the newspapers? Rediculas.

Not for lack of trying mightily, though.

**** “Why devolve into vigilantism?” *****

Cause Vigilantes talk to the assholes before they hang them so their batting avg would be a hell of a lot better than 7 nimrods that think that their badges are hunting licenses...

I personally would not have shed a single tear if these 7 were strung up and hanging from light posts yesterday

TT

They finally got their lies straight. Next will come the list of contraband they found in the truck. Then will come the character assination.

I wonder how many of these upright servants could pass a piss test.

Depends if they're testing for steroids.

Um...”doctored” as in they waited a couple hours, labeled every bullet hole, and took another picture from about the same angle because its a dramatic and interesting vantage point?

I.e.: not doctored. Different picture.

That they did not kill anyone was no fault of theirs. And most certainly for lack of effort. They tried.

I note that the LAPD is offering vigilantes $1,000,000.00 in cool cash for his big ol’ black haid.

I’m sure we can trust thousands of random citizens to not shoot at little old grey haired hispanic women.

Gonna be a bad week to be a big black dude, though...
