Alleged cop-killer Christopher Dorner has vanished.
More than 24 hours after Dorner allegedly shot and killed one police officer and injured two others, police say they have no idea where the former cop with a vendetta against police has gone.
"He could be anywhere at this point," Sheriff John McMahon of the San Bernadino County Sheriff's Department said today.
Police are also trying to determine whether Dorner left his burning car on the side of Big Bear Mountain and earlier dropped his badge in San Diego as diversionary tactics to distract police.
Wherever Dorner is, law enforcement officials fear that he may be heavily armed, possibly with a powerful .50 caliber rifle, which shoots five-inch long bullets that can pierce bullet proof vests and vehicles, as well as a shoulder-fired missile launcher.
Dorner, 33, a former Los Angeles police officer and Navy reservist, sparked a region-wide dragnet after allegedly killing two civilians on Sunday and releasing an angry "manifesto" airing grievances against the LAPD and warning of coming violence toward cops.
In the manifesto Dorner published online, he threatened at least 12 people by name, along with their families.
"Your lack of ethics and conspiring to wrong a just individual are over. Suppressing the truth will lead to deadly consequences for you and your family," Dorner wrote in his manifesto...

The “manifesto” is too perfect as an anti-gun propaganda tool.
It’s looking more and more like we have numerous anti-gun crises popping one after the other in quick succession.
IMHO, I’m sure there are some new world order types high up at CIA and the foundations who are quite aware of all the details of the sources of these “crises”.
But... that’s a wacky conspiracy theory - it’s impossible, crazy talk.
I just wonder how many more of these it will take before we start going after the real culprits.

He does indeed mention in his manifesto possessing Manpads and a Barrett .50. While don’t believe he has Manpads I think it’s the fear of the .50 cal that has LE all worked up.
Interestingly when Ronny Barrett began marketing the .50, the Cali gun grabbers immediately passed a ban on them even though one was never even used in a crime here.
The lib elites so fear this rifle because its range puts it outside of the normal security detail zone.
I think it was Feinstein who worried that it could even penetrate limousine armor... So it must be banned!
Meh. Given enough people and stress, some nut is going to crack at some point. It’s not all going to add up...that’s why he’s a cracked nut.
Given the reaction some cops had to finding a similar vehicle, I can believe why he cracked.
What really won’t add up is the political fallout. They’ve been waiting for someone like him to happen. They just won’t know what to do with the fact he’s a raging Leftist.

Indeed. Not just one crisis after another — each one becoming a national story is clearly of a higher level of menace:
- Rep. Giffords shooting (6 adults dead)
- Aurora shooting (12 dead, mostly adults)
- Newtown shooting (25? children dead)
- Dorner spree — now law enforcement is the target

Right as this whole mess started I read an article that listed him as half-black, half-Chinese.
I just can't see him firing a .50 without compromising his position unless he's shooting from elevation or VERY loud area. Otherwise it's one shot, everybody looks and sees where you shot from and then your position is compromised. Then he's found out. I posted on another thread that I think the suppressed weapons are the ones LAPD should fear.

I don’t see him leaving the LA area at all. He’s got more work to do, and a list to follow. And he’s had about 5 years to plan all of this. My guess is he has safe houses stocked with food, money stashed, and is planning on picking off LAPD and/or family members. Then he might split. Or he could reverse the process, lay low for a while, and then start up again with his vendetta. He’s a man on a mission, vengeance.....

Yes, I believe a .50 CA Bullet could pierce a “shoulder fired missile launcher”, but if there is a Missile inside the Missile Launcher when that happens it might go boom.

My half-brother who’s a high honcho on the L.A.Police Force sent me a message this evening saying that the suspicion among the law enforcement officials as well as the FBI, who are now involved with this case is that Chris is hiding at D.B. Cooper’s house the exact location of which has remained unknown and undetermined.
He seems to be becoming a folk hero to some folks here on FR. Some of these posts have me shaking my head.
