Alleged cop-killer Christopher Dorner has vanished.
More than 24 hours after Dorner allegedly shot and killed one police officer and injured two others, police say they have no idea where the former cop with a vendetta against police has gone.
"He could be anywhere at this point," Sheriff John McMahon of the San Bernadino County Sheriff's Department said today.
Police are also trying to determine whether Dorner left his burning car on the side of Big Bear Mountain and earlier dropped his badge in San Diego as diversionary tactics to distract police.
Wherever Dorner is, law enforcement officials fear that he may be heavily armed, possibly with a powerful .50 caliber rifle, which shoots five-inch long bullets that can pierce bullet proof vests and vehicles, as well as a shoulder-fired missile launcher.
Dorner, 33, a former Los Angeles police officer and Navy reservist, sparked a region-wide dragnet after allegedly killing two civilians on Sunday and releasing an angry "manifesto" airing grievances against the LAPD and warning of coming violence toward cops.
In the manifesto Dorner published online, he threatened at least 12 people by name, along with their families.
"Your lack of ethics and conspiring to wrong a just individual are over. Suppressing the truth will lead to deadly consequences for you and your family," Dorner wrote in his manifesto...

Have the houses of Joe Scarborough, Maddow and Olbermann been checked?
If they can’t find this guy, I can see him becoming some kind of folk hero for Chris Rock and his flock.
No doubt a very long receiver and a specially drilled and milled chamber to accept the 5 inch long bullet it shoots, through vests and stuff.
I think all Californians should turn in their weapons because that will help them be safe from Christopher Dorner.
Dorner should register his .50 cal.
I heard the dude is driving around in an MLRS.
I'll bet he had another vehicle and was off the mountain and long gone before he set the Pick up on fire with a cell phone hooked to an incendiary device.
He may have taken vanishing lessons from Eric Robert Rudolph.
Yep. BTW, does anyone know the timeline of his service in the Navy and on the LAPD?
Send in Holder.
Perhaps California should consider a law against psychopath’s having rocket launchers.
That’s why the cops are so scared. He’s trained, armed, and deadly serious.
Nice to gaze at it and contemplate the recoil of that much powder launching a bullet that large. But the slug is only about 2.2 inches long, not 5, must be a varmint round.........
Here's a f*****G narrative for them. One dude with a little training has outsmarted 3 states (or more) and 2 countries (US & Mexico) and has every law enforcement person in said states, scared sh*tless? Yeah, I start changing the "narrative" and "optics" too with and get it off the facts of the case (there is a whole lot of wrong all up in this story to go around, so I aint picking sides) but to drop the "...he might have one of those "icky" weapons" is total amateur hour PR.
Just saying...
I look at what he’s done and see it as a cry for help.
Really? When I saw this thread I grabbed one of the AP incendiary bullets from the shelf and measured it. Overall length is somewhere between 2 1/4 and 60 mm. (I've had a few, I've got the wrong glasses, light is bad, the rule I'm using is metric/SAE, and I'm too lazy to get the calipers).
Overall round length of the .50 BMG is 5.5 inches, for that round (API). For the expensive match rounds that I bought from Arizona Ammunition for $5 a pop, overall round length is 5 7/8ths inch or so.
Once again, the MSM has NO clue about firearms.

“Five inch long bullets”. I wish these so called journalist would get their terminology correct. It’s a five ( actually closer to five and a half )inch long cartridge. The bullet is over two inches.
WOW! 5 inch bullets! Missile launcher! Is he an NRA member? Probably is. Betcha.
Just a minute, I going to club myself to death so I can’t read any more of this BS.
