which shoots five-inch long bullets

Really? When I saw this thread I grabbed one of the AP incendiary bullets from the shelf and measured it. Overall length is somewhere between 2 1/4 and 60 mm. (I've had a few, I've got the wrong glasses, light is bad, the rule I'm using is metric/SAE, and I'm too lazy to get the calipers).

Overall round length of the .50 BMG is 5.5 inches, for that round (API). For the expensive match rounds that I bought from Arizona Ammunition for $5 a pop, overall round length is 5 7/8ths inch or so.

Once again, the MSM has NO clue about firearms.

‘....which shoots five-inch bullets.”

Yeah, I laughed when I saw that, too.

Still, personally, I’d rather not be on the receiving end of a .50 caliber slug, body armor or not.

This is going to be an interesting situation. As someone else here on FR noted, unless the LAPD gets lucky in finding this guy PDQ, there’s likely going to be few police funerals in the not-too-distant future.
