fter smearing movement conservative icon Brent Bozell as a "hater" who has a "sordid history of hating Karl Rove," Jonathan Collegio of American Crossroads mocked a group of prominent conservatives who wrote a letter to Crossroads GPS President Steven Law demanding Collegio be fired.
Ive been trying to get my friends to sign it, because itll make for a funnier story once I get it framed, Collegio said, in response to the letter to the Washington Examiner. It would be flattering, if it werent so absurd.
In an interview with Breitbart News editor Larry O'Connor on WMAL's "Mornings on the Mall" radio show in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, Collegio said, "Bozell is a hater and he also has a long sordid history hating Karl Rove. He has weird personal axes to grind." Collegio was on the show to talk about the group's new super PAC, which many believe has declared war on the Tea Party.
He subsequently apologized for his remarks, but that apology was not enough for some of the conservative movement's most prominent leaders. Collegio also seemed to be taking a swipe at Mark Levin when he criticized conservatives who supported failed Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell in 2010. Collegio said those were the types of candidates his new organization is trying to prevent from winning the GOP nomination.
On behalf of the conservative movement, we are demanding you terminate Mr. Collegio," they wrote. An apology is not acceptable."

But, but,... but...didn’t I hear Rove the other night “straightening us out” by telling us how much money he spent on reprobate candidates like O’Donnel and Aiken?...or was I just hearing things?
-——Would ODonnell or Akin really have been worse than what was elected? -——
That is not the point of the argument. Rove et al made the professional judgement they could not win the election. In Delaware that judgement was correct.
In Missouri, the water is so murky and support might have saved the day.
True, and don’t forget the “professional investment” they made.
Rove is trading on the status he derived from being a political insider and kingmaker to raise millions of dollars to support candidates through his superpac and like all investors, those who give him money want a return on that investment. Rove’s credibility is on the line here, this whole thing is completely transparent when you think about it and what’s important to him. “Follow the money” always works.
rove is a hired gun. There is a country clubber behind him financing this. Rove is just doing what he is paid to do.
O’donnell had flaws? Yes, while she is a conservative she is also a fruitcake. Castle is a RINO. So the pickings were pretty slim. I would have held my nose and supported her but see no reason to fault anyone who didn’t. We don’t want the conservative movement and the tea party associated with the likes of flakes like o’donnell. If we cant find better candidates than her then perhaps we don’t deserve the seat
These guys aren't stupid. They don't believe that crap anymore than you or I. They want to turn this country into another Mexico. Down there a very small elite controls everything and live like kings inside armed citadels while most the people are near peonage, living in abject poverty. The GOPe bosses want to break the middle-class here so they can loot and lord over the country at will. And they don't care if it ruins the country. The elite in North Korea or any African hellhole live the high life.
You'd think with the millions he's made, he'd invest a little time and money in a fitness center. He's the spittin' image of the Pillsbury Dough Boy.
It's one thing to not support her. It's another thing to join in the mugging by the MSM and the Dems, which Rove did. And perhaps O'Donnell was the only other choice precisely because she was the only one crazy enough to think she could defeat the entrenched household name candidate Mike Castle - just as Romney's frontrunner status (and widespread GOP_E support) in the 2012 cycle probably kept stronger opponents out of the primary.
Rove learned all the wrong lessons over the last few years. Bush's tenure ruined the GOP brand. The Tea Party is what gave the GOP power back in the House. Romney was an absolute bust against an extremely weakened incumbent. And the GOP-E House and Senate candidates fared worse than the Tea Party candidates in 2012.
There are labels for a political figure who believes the answer to failure is to do more of what has been failing in the hopes that it eventually works if you try hard enough.
Liberal. Idiot.
But I repeat myself.
LOL. I guess I’m finally starting to learn this is war, war against the mushy middle. They no longer deserve any conservative votes. Let ‘em appeal to the Democrats for votes. They have more in common with them anyway. After this last election, I’m ready for a third party! We lose anyway, so why not, eh?
Tokyo Rove’s legion strikes again. And we strike back.
Boy, there’s nothing like fighting the Marxist Dhimms head on while at the same time having to fight big government PseudoCons to your rear.
May the Lord see us through this sorry chapter in our nation’s history.
“His jest savors but a shallow wit.”
I agree. the better approach would be to stay out of it or quietly support o’donnell. Rove is an idiot Ànd a RINO. So his rejection was perhaps primarily based on her being a conservative. I have never challenged her conservative candidate. But we do need strong candidates that are not an embarrassment. We can do better. But Rove is the enemy within. He cant be trusted.
Someone who calls someone else a “hater” is identifying himself as a Liberal, not a “moderate.”
“Why would this smart a** be hired by anyone who wanted to win future elections?”
Rove is apparently copying democrats, this is the kind of people they hire, colligeo probably doesn’t have core beliefs, will do anything or anyone for money.
Because squishy moderates have no philosophy beyond, "well, okay, but please not so blatantly.' Their guiding light is sharing power with the perceived natural Rulers who are the left. They are much more comfortable with the Left than with conservatives, socially and politically. They believe that conservatives are illegitimate party crashers who should be hustled back out the door before they cause the establishment left to suspect that the moderate Republicans are somehow linked with those conservative philistine oafs.
People who call people “haters” are generally morons. And he is throwing a silly hissy fit which makes me think he’s gay. Has Rove switched?
Levin declared war against Rove a few nights ago, and it’s paying dividends. This pathetic cabal is now waddling out into the open.
