Chris Cillizza Finds Decline In Americans' Trust In Government 'Depressing'

Conservatives might take heart from a recent poll showing a decline in Americans' trust in government. But Chris Cillizza sees it as a "depressing reality."

So wrote Cillizza in his "Fix" column in today's Washington Post. Let's consider what Thomas Jefferson's had to say about the need for a healthy distrust of government, and speculate as to why Cillizza is bummed out by the polling news.

More here.

Bingo.
We don’t trust them because they don’t trust us.
Every encroachment or violation of our constitutional rights is just more proof that they don’t trust American citizens.

These media morons have it bassackwards.

That’s the end result of nihilism, naturalism, and humanism.

The only transcendent “being” is the State.
So it takes precedence over the sovereignty of the individual.

(The Christian worldview is the opposite, no surprise - the human person is perpetual, and the State and the World are destined for destruction.)

Decline In Americans' Trust In Government 'Depressing'

Loving one's country is patriotic, trusting one's government is just plain stupid.

Why would someone expect the people to trust government when the government does not trust government. Why does the Constitution create three branches of government? Why does the government create "checks and balances"? Do you really think they trust?

Hey Chris,

They didn’t poll me, but I thought I’d add my input:

Congress is slime.

The president is excrement.

The MSM are maggots.

Whew, now that that’s off my mind, I’ll waltz over to the Obamatorium and take a giant, bodacious Obama.
