I was raised by Liberal parents in a Liberal state. My childhood was good -- safe, played outside until it got dark. Never a worry. College in the late 70s in the big city -- saw the gritty underside of life, and saw Reagan and Giuliani come in and start to clean things up and restore what had been lost. I've always wanted to help in that effort and continue the struggle to get this country back to where it was in the 1940s, 50s and early 60s.
But I now feel the struggle is lost. America is not America, and I do not think it can be restored. I'm just waiting the Jesus. I figure an economic collapse and a civil war and a tribulation may precede the big event, but my only hope now is in the Second Coming.

Every day that passes I feel more like that. But there is hope.
"If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land".

My prescription...
EVERY Freeper physically and mentally able to, becomes a member of their local, county and/or state Republican committees.
Those are the folks who set the agenda.
We become the new "establishment" republicans, promoting smaller, constitutional government.

Don’t get caught up in false nostalgia. The ‘40s through the ‘60s had an awful lot of bad in there as well. In many ways, today is a heck of a lot better, though there is still a lot of bad.
And, if nothing else, there is no longer the constant fear of nuclear war and the gigantic menace of the Soviet Union.
