BOSTON (CBS) One person disappointed by Gov. Deval Patricks decision to name Mo Cowan as interim U.S. Senator is former Congressman Barney Frank.
Earlier this month, Frank openly lobbied for the position, saying I think Im better prepared than most people.
Patrick obviously felt differently and chose Cowan, his former Chief of Staff, who has no previous experience holding elected office.
Frank issued this terse statement Wednesday:
I know Mr. Cowan is committed to working hard and in socially-fair and economically-efficient manner toward resolving pending budget issues.
I now look forward to working for the election of Ed Markey to continue this work, and to providing President Obama the support he deserves in carrying out the mandate he received in November.
Been a nasty week for those Progressives. First, Slow Joe Biden is politically “b!tch slapped” by Barry Zero as he endorsed Mrs. Slick Willy Clinton for a run in 2016. Now, some uppity black guy, whose only experience has been in the sewers of Boston politics, is picked for “Senator for a couple of months” over the experienced former Mass. representative who has for years bent over backward to accommodate some people he represented. The Governor admitted that he would have to do some stroking to settle the unrest in the Mass. Democratic Party.

No back door?
Hopefully Cowan can have as distinguished a career as Paul Kirk. Time will tell...
The Franks & Nabors could hook up and have a gay ole time.
On reflection, Barney sez:
“I’m gay, he’s black... it must have been a tough decision for Deval. I’ll get behind (heh, heh) our Governor.”
