Marco Rubio's tough talk to Rush Limbaugh yesterday about no immigration deal being done unless certain language on border security, etc. is included? Ignore it. Just Rubio taking care of his conservative baseand saving face. In the end, Rubio will likely give Obama his vote on immigration reform. It's all about finding an out for Republicans when it comes to winning back a decent share of the Latino vote. And conservatives will be willing to take the deal.
Such was the collective wisdom of Morning Joe today, as enunciated by Jon Meacham and seconded by Joe Scarborough.

I agree- I would like it wrote in the bill that they have a means to suport themselves financially, a relative signs a form saying they will support them, and they are not entitled to GOVERNMENT BENEFITS. No SSI, NO SSDI.....
You could use a new screen name.
Its the same plan as Obama’s : millions of new Dem party voters,
You know what Rubio told Rush??
That he expects them to open businesses and then ‘realize the cost of government’ (in the negative) suggesting that they would actually support upper end tax cuts over gub handouts when voting.
This is preposterous and dishonest. If Rub and Mccain get their Obama bill we will hear even more endless lectures (just like w Joe now) on how the R party must move to center to appeal to those new 'Hispanic' voters,
Take out the gov freebees and voting and see how many apply.
Who buys that load of crap?
Amnesty will be the final bullet-in-the-head to the country. Obama/Holder/Napolitano will ensure there will be no enforcement of border security, and the liberal courts will overturn any restrictions and rule that the illegals will be entitled to all forms of welfare and voting. A wave of 25 million new Dem votes. Texas will become a blue-state, and America permanently becomes a one-party nation. It will render every political issue, every election moot. I consider anyone for this a damned traitor.
Well since 99% will be in that bottom 47% of voters (increasing it to 53% eventually) I assume that means they file for their accumulated tax credit $$$ that the Feds pay them for all the years they were living here illegally, that is what they mean by 'pay their taxes'
A real plan would demand that they pay a certain level of taxes say like a single does who earns 60K per year with no deductions (and earn the income at those levels) for say 5 years or no permanent green card..
Who needs more cleaning ladies getting food stamps and EITC and medicaid?
You go take your meds.

Marco Rubio (R-Latinos)
He’s a Jeb Bush protege. Front man for the treason lobby.
Deportation No, Amnesty Si!
If you want to fully convert the United States into just one more Latin American country then Rubio is your guy.
California has already made the change, you get to be next.

“Rush was giddy after that interview.”
Memories of how Rush played waterboy for Dubya.
Spoken like a true RINO!
” Some have the idea to run a few hundred thousands of empty cattle car into all of America and load them up for a fast trip to Mexico. What stupidity. “
Save those left wing talking points for your pals at DU.
Illegal aliens are Citizens of Other Countries.
What is so hard about making them return to their own countries?
Why should Americans have to have their customs changed, their language pushed aside, their money taken to educate and medicate and jail these border trespassers?
When do our politicians get around to representing our interests, instead of the interests of foreign nationals who ignore our laws? When do we count? Never?
You are so emotional that you can’t see clearly. I never never never said anything about being in favor of amnesty. I never said illegal immigration was not a problem. I simply said your 30 million figure was off the rails and that you were lathering yourself up beyond proportions.
Maybe in your town it is the number one problem. I would never argue with a man about his own town. I will simply tell you that the 60 million natives who hate your country is a bigger problem than the 10-12 million illegals, about 5 million of whom actually love your country.
That’s my only point. Back to your meds. Double up today, and lay off the caff.
I’m not gonna defend Rubio, we’ll wait and see how he plays it. BUT, you took his quote OUT of context. He was not talking about illegals opening businesses and then realize the cost of government, he was talking about legal Hispanics doing that, and then becoming Republican voters, thereby narrowing the GOP’s Hispanic deficit in elections.
Again, Rubio will sink or swim on his own, but you did misquote him.
Spoken like a true DUMBASS
This plan is total capitulation to amnesty in Democrat voter creation. If anything, it and its proponents are worse, because they are more duplicitous, than those who are open about it.
This plan has built in a completely toothless, for show only, ‘commission’ that will have the power to create a ‘recommendation’ only re: border security and the granting of citizenship.
These pols know full well what they are doing and they have that in there only so they can completely falsely claim that they are holding out for border security first.
Shortly afterward a post here gave me the opportunity to comment on it while re-posted the exact text of his answer.
SOL comment with Rubios exact words#4
It is quite clear that his stated observations relate to promoting this amnesty was trying to convince the Rush listener that the same will happen with illegals after his amnesty plan passes(if it does) , which is preposterous.
He clearly didn't say “ Of course the same might not work with the undocumented under my bill as it did with LEGAL immigrants so if it passes into law we better pray that history doesn't repeat itself”
Because that would have defeated the dishonest point he was trying to make. In fact O has been repeating "America was built by immigrants' for the same dishonest purpose.
I still appreciate you pointing it out, good catch and helped me with my point.
Who cares what Jon Meacham says or thinks. His great accomplishment in life was reducing the value of Newsweek to one dollar.
Well, yes, there are two things at play here, and while you remain more convinced of his ill intentions than I, we may “hear” things differently, but honestly differently.
First, there is the sheer political question: how do Republicans get more Hispanic votes? I heard Rubio’s “open businesses” comment purely in those terms, which is good, meaning that he is not advocating amnesty as a way to pander for votes, which is what the Jeb Bush Joe Scarborough types are saying.
NOW, is he really hoping to get amnesty down the road? That’s a different question, and one where you have a solid opinion, and one where I’m more wait and see.
As for this issue, I’m with Rush and others: til we secure the border, nothing else matters period. It’s like surgery, til you stop the bleeing in triage, it really doesnt’ matter what other discussions are going on involving recovery of the patient. If we secure the border first, then second stop the government hand outs - this problem would take care of itself in 5 years. By 3 years, it would be noticeably better. And in the meanitme, citizens would not suffer a disruption to the economy and way of life, which legit citizens sure would under some other scenarios. This problem is 60 years in the making, there is not fantasy cure in short term. I mean, wish there was, but there isn’t.
