Following a public policy meeting of African-American leaders, National Urban League president Marc Morial and National Action Network president Al Sharpton called for a new national assault weapons ban, saying the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution should be regulated.
The Constitution and the Bill of Rights are not absolute. One cannot yell fire in a crowded theater and hide behind the First Amendment, said Morial when asked by TheDC if he supports California Democratic Sen. Diane Feinsteins assault weapon ban bill.
And we absolutely think that the idea of banning a military style assault weapon, a weapon that I am confident that Thomas Jefferson and James Madison never laid their eyes on, is not inconsistent with the rights of those who self-protect, those who shoot, who want to participate in sporting and hunting,
TheDC asked Rev. Sharpton if he agreed with Morials comments.
Absolutely, I mean if you look at the Second Amendment it was that you would have militia to protect yourself in case the government came and attacked citizens, he responded.
First of all, if the government were to come to disarm you, you would not be able to use an automatic weapon to defend yourself. Lets be serious. Were in a world of drones now so the Second Amendment would not help you in that area. It is absurd to try to cite that.
People do not have the right to unregulated rights in this country, Sharpton continued....

We should send Rev. Al to Afghanistan to tell them that they're up against drones now, so they might as well just lay down their arms and give up.
regulation and rights are opposites.
hell, even i knew this in sixth grade... and i wasn’t being paid 6-figures/year
what a moron
Al Sharpton’s exercise of his First Amendment rights has gotten more people killed (Freddie’s Fashion Mart) than the guns legally owned by 99.9997% of US gun owners.
The slave owners of the past would send this clown out on a speaking tour.
Why this F'en tool has anything other than a jail cell, is proof that our judicial system needs a do over.....
What really has Rev Al & his homies in the ‘hood jacked up about guns is all those whities across the land snapping up AR-15s. It’s so.....racist.
So Al - you're OK with requiring a voter ID, since People do not have the right to unregulated rights in this country, correct?
It wouldn't do any good to lecture Mr. Sharpton (I refuse to call him Reverend and insult real men of God) about intellectual consistency - he wouldn't understand the concept.
The good news is that Al Sharpton is simply is talking and no more. Just ignore him.
You are more right than you know. There is a latent fear in much of the black community that the non blacks will burn them out.
Sharpton and others have fed this myth for years.
Al, you are exactly the kind of opportunistic power hungry {expletive} the founding fathers had in mind when they wrote the bill of rights. The bill of rights is there, thank God, to protect us from people like you.
The greasy headed one needs to be drug around a little for saying such things in an unregulated manner./s

Unlike the Afghanis, we’re already over here, where the drone operators, their families, the drone operation stations, and the drone manufacturers are located.
I’m sure, if necessary, their use could be “discouraged.”
Tell that to the Afghanis.
Give me 200 million armed civilians and they can have drones, and we'll see who wins.
First, most of our 1.5 million military will not fight their friends and relatives.
Next, those remaining -- those brown shirts -- must eat, must walk, must shop, must roam about...
Every trip they would be in the sights of a dozen or more rifles at any given moment.
I wonder if he was singing this tune during the 60’s civil rights protests.
Surely when his people were marching in the streets with shotguns. Right Mr. Sharpton?
LOS ANGELES, January 27, 2013 Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) referred to the National Rifle Association as “venal” during an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union wth Candy Crowely.
“The NRA is venal. They come after you, they put together large amounts of money to defeat you,” she said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “They did this in ‘93, and they intend to continue it.”
Feinstein claims the NRA, any by default its members, are the biggest “stumbling block” when it comes to passing her broad gaun.

Sharpton is just the loudmouthed beacon used to draw the media. That question is better put to one of the other attendees, Marc Morial.
If anyone has any questions about what the National Urban League is, just remember that Marc was the home-city darling of ACORN, and that the door in D.C. was opened wide for Marc when he left the mayor's office in New Orleans.
Yep, "community organizing" at the national planning level.
“unregulated rights” - what a maroon....Abe Lincoln might have even punched Sharpton in the face for the iodicy pouring out of his mouth...lol
He can take his drone and shove it up his greasy.....oh wait, he’d probably like that!!!
