A bipartisan group of House members has been quietly meeting and is close to an agreement on changes to propose the nations immigration laws, House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) said last week in a speech to a Republican group.

Its time to deal with Boehner.
Giving amnesty to illegals will just increase the democrat base and further weaken our economy. How can these Repubs not see this? They need to wake up and be honest with themselves. We don’t have the resources.
Don’t allow any non-citizens and access to the dole and see how fast they won’t come here.
Non-citizen legal residents should be banned from our treasury as well.
When is the treatment of American citizens in Mexico and their rights vs US treatment of Mexicans going to be an issue when we discuss amnesty ?
Ever hear of reciprocal aggrements ? These are arranged to protect the rights of American citizens working or living in other countries.
Why is it when it comes to citizens of other countries we are required to offer them the same privledges as we do to US citizens? But when it comes to US citizens who get in trouble or attempt to do business in other countries they do not get the same treatment their citizens get.
Americans cant own coast land in Mexico. And get no title to it elsewhere. If they run out of cash theyll get unceremoniously sent back or put in jail untill some relative comes up with the fresh. Thats just for starters as for granting them voting privledges yea lets give Mexican citizens that right when American citizens vote in their elections .
So they want to grant 10-20 million illegals citizenship where the fug do they think they are gonna find jobs? There are 8 million less jobs today then 4 years ago.
So they become citizens get free public housing, adc, food stamps etc. They realise they don’t have to work. Another influx of criminal invaders arrive to do those low pay. Cash jobs and we are right back where we started with an extra 20 million parasites feeding of us!
More 3rd world immigration (legal and illegal) translates into more Democrat voters and greater chances we never see a Republican or conservative president again. This is the Republican party committing suicide
There is no positive outcome to passing amnesty. The Repub’s falsely believe it will benefit them politically. It will not. As you noted, there is no benefit economically to the US. The only ones who benefit are the law-breakers (illegals) and the dem’s (politically).
Looks like trouble. ‘bipartisan group of members’ ???
The tax fight was just stupid and I don't expect the House to be banning any guns or magazines anytime soon. But here is where they can get into trouble.
The last part that they have no bill is hopeful,
“More 3rd world immigration (legal and illegal) translates into more Democrat voters and greater chances we never see a Republican or conservative president again. This is the Republican party committing suicide”
Suicide is right.
At the rate things are going, the Republican party as it is today may vanish within 15 years (if that long).
There will still be “former Republicans” around. They will still run for and hold office.
But they will be running under a different flag on the ballot.
“Amnesty is the death of the GOP and the Republic. No more GOP if they vote for this.”
I second that.
They sure don’t feel that way about millions of law-abiding gun owners. They feel perfectly equal to hunting down every last one of us and putting us into a database prior to disarming us. But finding even a fraction of the illegal aliens and deporting them is too much for them.
We need to take a leaf from their Alinsky playbook and create “sanctuary cities” for gun owners, and dare them to use more force in dealing with law-abiding gun-owning citizens than they have with illegal aliens, who are as often as not criminals in more ways than just the fact of being here illegally (rape, drunk driving, sneaking back after multiple deportations, etc). Just out of curiosity, I’d like to hear what arguments they’d come up with against sanctuary cities for gun owners that didn’t apply to sanctuary cities for illegal aliens. And to see how drastic they’d be in trying to flush us out.
Yep, they won’t gain enough of the hispanic vote to even count, while they’ll lose yet more of the conservative vote. Makes me wonder what their long-term plan is, because they couldn’t be this stupid.
Not only that but it is a real deal breaker for a lot of Republicans. I will NEVER vote for anyone that votes for amnesty. I despised George Bush because of his amnesty push and his arrogant ‘ see you at the signing’. Made me want to just spit.
I’m sorry...I thought you useless politicians “fixed” immigration in 1986.
I’m SHOCKED it didn’t work. SHOCKED!
Yeah jimbo, this gop “leadership” is quite something isn’t it?
Sort of like being obammy’s puppet punks.
The Repubolicans are working hard to cement the permanent Democrat hold on power. An amnesty will give Democrats a permanent real voting majority that will continue to increase as Latin America moves to the USA and the epublican Party refuses to even oject to now obvious vote rigging on a massive scale. These fellos are NOT RINOs. They are REPUBLICANS. That is what Republicans are. Tea Party candidates mostly become just like the old guard when they are elected. There is a tiny number of mavericks like Rand paul but counting on getting a conservative majority in the Republican Party in anything is silly. The Republican Party has ceased to be an independent entity and is very much the Official Opposition wing of the Democrat Party.
"Yep, they wont gain enough of the hispanic vote to even count, while theyll lose yet more of the conservative vote. Makes me wonder what their long-term plan is, because they couldnt be this stupid."
There is no long-term plan. The elite Repubs simply live in a bubble-world, and listen to the likes of their consultants, WSJ editors, the Colin Powells and King Jeb- all of whom openly despise the base. They could care less what happens to average Americans- all that matters to them is backroom wheeling and dealing.
You’re correct, I was thinking like a citizen, not like a politician on the make. As long as they and their children can be the “elite” in their lifetimes, then “apres moi le deluge”. They’re at the opposite end of the pole from Founders, who thought in terms of posterity.
I don’t think this bunch even really cares if they ever retake the White House or a congressional majority, they’ll have their power and perks just the same, without the stress. It doesn’t stress someone like Hussein, the man who can sleep theough a fatal attack on an American embassy and murder of an ambassador and two CIA former SEALs who tried to prevent the murder. I’ll give the Republicans this much-if they had the job of president, they would probably feel obliged to fulfill it-unlike Hussein-so who needs the bother, when they can just retain their nice comfortable congressional seats and all the good things that go with that.
They don’t even make much pretense now of taking the wishes of the citizens into account anymore-after the last two elections, maybe they believe that it doesn’t matter anyway, if they can’t beat ‘em (the left), they may as well join them. Or if not actually join them, then not go through the bother of fighting them very hard.
Between the cynicism of the voters who give a damn (I don’t mean the takers, the “gimmee” voters) and the politicians, there’s no “fight” left anywhere.
Some of us are trying to fly under the radar to have the kind of freedom in life this government is determined to deny us-freedom of association, freedom from stranglehold regulations, etc. Hopefully we can manage at least that much.
” Looks like trouble. bipartisan group of members ???”
McCain: “ My friends....”
Here we go.
