A draft of the much-anticipated "assault weapon" ban bill authored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein was posted online this afternoon in advance of it's posting on the Library of Congress THOMAS legislative database site. Gun Rights Examiner has received a copy and posted it on the SCRIBD document archive site.
That is necessary because at this writing, searching for the bill on the THOMAS site retrieves a message that "The text of S.150 has not yet been received from GPO Bills are generally sent to the Library of Congress from the Government Printing Office a day or two after they are introduced on the floor of the House or Senate.
"Delays can occur when there are a large number of bills to prepare or when a very large bill has to be printed," the site advises.
Still, the THOMAS site does provide some preliminary information, notably the last major action, "1/24/2013 Referred to Senate committee. Status: Read twice and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary," and a list of the 17 co-sponsors:

This is just a tease....we will be served up a few weeeks of ‘fierce debate’ in Washington, and finally our ruling class will come up with a compromise.
Our leaders will say ‘it does make anyone 100% happy, but its the best we can do, under the circumstances’, and they’ll have the votes.
And we’ll have national gun registration :(.
I hope I’m wrong. If you congress critter gives any indiction whatsoever that he’s going wobbly on this, blast him with e-mails.
Interesting that they only put CERTAIN bills on line but not others.......
Don't get distracted by this one Senate bill!
Here is how I look at it.
If you felt the need to own an “assault” style weapon and then meekly turn it in cause some POS decided to ban them you didn’t deserve to own one to begin with.
Ban away.
I agree....we should all feel like the frog in the pot of water...pretty soon we won’t even notice the jack boots smashing the door down next door as long as we have “Tingles” and Opra to sooth our minds.
A freeper here said it yesterday: Lie, Defy, Do Not Comply.
Perhaps this will be the new slogan for our time, the contemporary “Don’t Tread on Me?
How about we call it “The Law Abiding Citizens Denial of 2nd Amendment Rights Bill”? These ignorant radical left wing extremists must NOT be allowed to further their goals of denying the people their rights guaranteed by the Bill Of Rights. No compromise, no quarter. Why is the 2nd amendment the only one that specifies “the people”? Are there any others that call out “the people”? Because the founders wanted it clear that it meant us. “The People”! finesteen doesn’t “allow the rights of a few”. They don’t “allow” anything. Demokkkrats got to go. Now I’m gettin’ a little cranky.
Molon labe.

(ii) A forward grip.
So itf you can add a pistol grip or a forward grip, it’s illegal?
That outlawas every semi auto rifle there is since they’re all capable of being added to.
Sorry for the sloppy typing.
Maybe we all need to print out a copy, take it to the range, and fill it full of holes. Then send it to the Senate for full consideration.
We are all Elian Gonzalez.
Wow!
We are under Full Assault!!
